The QB Debate - post South Carolina (merged)

I don't believe that. People want to see big plays and excitement, not to mention wins. The quarterback is an easy target.
Im just gonna say it.... Does anyone feel like all this hate, similar to the Dobbs hate, has to do with his race? It feels that way at times.

As I have asked before, why couldnt we win more than 5 games in 2012 with superior QB play and a much better OL? Can someone please explain?

I know I know

Could it possibly be that even though the offense put up 40 points per game, the defense allowed 50 points per game?

Do I win anything?

JG played his butt off, getting hammered time and time again. To say this loss is on him is just asinine.

Him playing his butt off is not enough to keep him on field
Didn't Jumper play his butt off but we wanted him replaced
Jumper had a back up that was better and now JG does also. Same story

This is what he looked like on the last play. My point as to why it doesn’t matter if he has 300 yards passing and 10 TD’s in a game, when it matters a veteran QB will not do this. He clearly had green grass in front of him for 15 yards but decided to dance instead of run. It cost us the game folks.
I suspect happy feet may come with the beating he has taken this year. Yeah maybe some of that is on him by not avoiding the rush, but he has still taken a pounding. Congrats to the young man for giving his all and continuing to get back up and fight.

Hairy. I think it is like this. All of us arm chair coaches like certain, things in players
Some line pocket passers. Some like runners. In the NBA, I prefer a 3 point shot over a dunk. Based on my liking, I like Curry but don't like Blake Griffin
I like a bulldozer like Jerome Bettie but don't like Gurley
If a QB doesn't fit in my box, then I don't like him. I like Ben & Warren Moon but don't like Vince Young or Steve Young

Noticeably off in practice this week? All I ever heard was his practice all week was fine. If he was off in practice, that begs the question--again--why didn't Chryst start or even play?
Was reported by a few outlets he was wearing the rib protector and lacked zip on his passes. I think it showed a few times, seemed like he was overcompensating and drilled it or threw high on short routes. He just looked off at times. I think he was hurting out there.

Is it a coincidence that every stupid post on hear has Gruden somewhere in their name?

He'll have one of his top 5 career best games against South Carolina next season. If I'm wrong, I'll send $100 via Paypal to the first previous poster who bumps this thread. If I'm right, you have to create an apology thread with a sincere apology and call him your daddy. All bets are off if he's injured or otherwise doesn't play.

Isn't that the only game he actually played? The other few snaps he got in previous games were almost all handoffs to a back. Bama game was the first time we got to see him actually play.

Actually, he threw it at the feet of his receivers and looked awful against second and third team defenses.

It’s a damn shame we don’t have a capable Senior back up, that might could have taken some pressure off our obviously banged up starter.

So by saying this you are assuming Pruitt is as dumb as Botch then?

I don't believe that CJP is making this call (subjective on my part). I believe that control of the offense was part of the deal to get this staff here.
If JG is healthy, I believe he starts. With a new LT, the chickens will be all out attacking from the blind side. Since JG can't accurately throw across the middle (to neutralize pressure), and has issues reading pre-snap defensive adjustments (to check out of time consuming down field routes), I don't belive that he will finish this game. Giving these conditions, if JG starts I will loose a lot of confidence in this OC getting us to a bowl game.

Helton s the one who brought KC here. Pruitt has never been happy about it. I believe that Helton would much prefer plying KC if it was his choice. Given that, I don’t believe Helton actually has control. And that is probably part of the reason heat between Helton & Pruitt.

Jesus Christ.. People putting the blame on JG is ridiculous. Majority of our pass plays called are short to mediocre passes...by DESIGN. If you think JG doesn't have the arm to complete passes 10-15+ yards down field you don't understand football nor how to evaluate players. JG had two deep balls to Palmer last night that were catchable. I'd love to see more deep balls but lets remember we don't have any burners at WR. Our 2 fastest are arguably Byrd and Williams. Idk if Williams has even been on the field and Byrd never seems to be a part of the gameplan. That leaves us with possession WR's that aren't gonna beat you over the top.. They're gonna play for position on the deep ball and and go up and compete for it at high point. That is what you call a 50/50 ball. If you think you're gonna be successful throwing a bunch of 50/50 balls every game then well my friend.. that's why you're on the couch eating your cheetos and drinking your natty light instead of an SEC OC. I don't agree with everything Helton is calling but this team is limited to what it can do.. both running and passing. We flat out don't have the dogs on the line to be at the level we want to be at. Back up QB is always the most popular guy to the fans when the team loses.
