U may be right, that was Gray that they were talking about in the same article. But, UT was considered the favorite for a long time
Etienne was committed to A&M and then Clemson. We were ONE of his favorites.

And Gray was never committed to us either.

We've missed out on so many players lately... we are not going to climb back out of the hole unless we can pull 3-4 top tier athletes and build off that... we will need 4-5 each class for the next three years to have a chance at being elite again... sorry to say, but getting one or two a class just isn't going to do it with the lesser overall talent we currently have, and us competing in the SEC... Pruitt has his recruiting work ahead...
If we could somehow pull a miracle with keeping Morris, add Bogle, Pappoe, Gray, To'oto'o, and maybe Crouch, we would definitely get kid's attention for '20 and '21 and they will see elite talent wanting to come here...
that will translate to wins and more kids jumping on board... kind of like the Clemson train. Let's be clear, I don't think we will come close to pulling even half of that talent, but that is unfortunately what it will take to turn the corner sooner than later.

Pruitt is being smart. Build the lines first. that is the foundation of the house. And he is doing a great job at that. That will get us consistently competitive and should allow us to go from the bottom to mid/upper mid tier. Consistantly 8-9 games because we should then beat the usce, vandy, UK, and mizzou's consistently. At that point you start adding the elite pieces to take it to the next level because you have more to sell those guys. "Push us over the top"

Just need to improve. Can’t expect to go from 6 wins to 10 wins in 2 years. Recruit the lines, add some more skilled players, and improve your program. Recruits will start listening.

Cereal talk, If I were Vandy I would hire Les Miles out of retirement. Dude would make even bad football entertaining. Me bets they go for another minority coach though. I think they took pride in being one of the few in the SEC with that distinction.

I know we all wanted him here at UT but anyone with half a brain would ahve made the same choice as he did. I hate it, but you have to do what's right for you...
