I want to know what Bank's listed height and weight is now. If they're moving him to ILB, I'm willing to bet he's been steadily putting on good weight since he's been here. Maybe in the 225 to 230 range?

They'll get him up to 240 in the offseason and pull out all of the stops to get Pappoe here and JJ Peterson ready to play a lot next season.

The days of seeing UT linebackers going backwards is going to come to an end if we can get some more help on the defensive line and more depth overall.

This stat is subjective as Hank previously posted, however, you get a general idea from it. It is clear that UT fans are harder on our O-line than we ought to be by comparison. Especially considering the staff and scheme change from the garbage of last year. I contend that pass pro improvement is simply playing the right G(s) and getting quicker coverage reads from the QB.

Imo the reason for this stat is mass protection on this downs Much more so than the rest of the sec teams

I think UGA and UF playing EVERY YEAR in Jville is BS, anyway. They should have to go into the Swamp or between the hedges, every year. All the rest of the SEC has to experience hostile road games against each other...they should, too. Could care less how long they've been playing there. I believe it's an advantage for both of them to not have to face each other in a TRUE ROAD GAME.

I don’t agree. The Red River Rivalry, this game and the original Iron Bowls have always been one of the best things about college football. One side of the stadium for each fanbase...nothing the pro’s or other programs can replicate. And upsets are always a strong (to probable) possibility...no matter the rankings. I arrived in DFW 95 and wondered what the big deal was about. One weekend later I knew. Got hard core Longhorns and Sooners in the same Chili’s prolly local alumni that live down the street from each other! Not everything cool you read about from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s died in the 80’s...just most of it.

That’s what bowl games are for.

Small sample size, but a stat I thought was interesting from an article in The Athletic:

Waaay too small of a sample size to glean any meaning off a 1% difference. It'll be interesting to keep up with if KC sees meaningful snaps down the road though..

Eye test says JG gets crushed more than any QB not named Peterman than I have ever seen. I don't need stat on small sample sizes to tell me he could be doing something better to keep that from happening. Even be a second faster in his drop and release will keep some of these hits from happening because they would be penalties.

Eye test also says Chryst sees it coming and gets ball out. And run game appears to be more consistent. Again small sample size so not fair to judge.

I can only judge that JG takes more hits that anyone I've ever seen minus Peterman. And we are not the only team in America with a bad OL

^ Good point - hadn't really thought about that before...don't know the answer but I do think part of it is awareness. Can that be taught? I don't know, maybe. I was taught how to use my peripheral vision - maybe that is something he's not using well. Just grasping here...

Did Banks play LB in high school? It is pretty interesting that he’s pegged to get playing time in an SEC game after a week at the position given we’ve got more highly touted linebackers who can’t get on the field at all.

Sometimes it comes down to desire. Wish we had a team full of players that wanted to compete.
