Any word on JG?

Disagree. I prefer JG's performance against Auburn over KC's performance. KC did show he is a good backup though.

I prefer JG as well. However I still want to see KC start and finish a complete game. What if we are dealing with a sitiation like Worley and Dobbs? Where the better QB is not playing? Not saying we are, but we really dont know.

Our line can't block for ****. Just have to hope and pray that he can survive, the good news is that the defensive fronts we'll be facing are going to be significantly less menacing going forward
Part is them. Part is him. KC didn't really get hit much. He made the right reads and calls then got rid of the ball. That's a pretty critical part of being a QB that JG continues to struggle with. He's improved but the same issue was seen last year. The OL suddenly got worse and started giving up bunches of sacks after he became the starter... nor maybe it wasn't all the OL?

How’s bout this, your fantasy team is in the championship game you’ve got KC and JG. Who gives you the best chance of winning?
I’m going with JG and I’m a pretty solid fantasy player. (6-1 in one league; 5-2 in the other) Back to studying the waiver wire :sniffles:

Look at our run game it's non-existent with very good running backs

Worley, Peterman, Dobbs, Dormady and now JG. All have gotten absolutely killed behind the TN OL. I think one of the biggest issues is that JG has taken WAY more hits in a year than KC has taken in his entire career. But it still seemed like the OL blocked better for KC. There were several times where KC seemed to have more time to throw. JG definitely has his issues.

Look at the run game before and after the QB change. It still wasn't good but was more productive. I think you are one of those who has tried to deny that the QB's reads and line calls impact the run game. It does. It impacts the pass protection. A QB's job is much bigger than handing the ball off or throwing it.

Even if JG weren't lagging some on that part of his game, it wouldn't be surprising that a guy with KC's background would be more advanced. He's had good coaching in his previous stop and has relatives who coach football.

But the raw and unfortunate fact is that JG is lagging. He was last year when Jones wanted him to win the starting job over Dormady but he couldn't. He did last year when a OL that wasn't giving up a ton of sacks all of a sudden was. Some guys don't have elite arms. Some guys never develop the ability to make the right reads and decisions. Hopefully that's not JG but he's in his 3rd year of college football and is behind the curve.

FWIW, I'm not personally that confident in KC. He has his own history of bad decisions and doesn't have the elite physical ability that JG has.

I'm actually not. Chryst may be slightly ahead at this point or he may not be. Chryst definitely made the worst throw of the game last week to be fair, but he also had some very bright moments. What's indisputable is that our offensive line is beyond awful and that JG has more upside due to his remaining eligibility. For those reasons I'm in favor of sticking with JG. I have a feeling that's Pruitt's thought process as well

So, if our starting QB has bruised ribs and everyone agrees that Chryst is a solid back up then shouldn't Chryst start? Why risk getting hurt worse or lose the game because he doesnt have good motion because he is tender? Just play Chryst and lets go!

But this isn't fantasy. You may be 6-1 or 5-2, but in real life JG is 1,-11 in conference play. He may have more ability than KC, but apparently only in practice. I'm not against the kid, but something isn't working, and they both play behind the same line.

JG really lucky he got some hits unabated to the QB. Linemen totally whiffed did not block anybody. I saw it happen way to many times in the Bama game. Two numbers were the worst offenders.

Reports are bruised ribs. Nothing broken. May get an update from Pruitt today at noon.

Dang it!! I was hoping for him to at least not play in the USC game. The USC game will show us if Keller was lucky against Bama or if he is really more efficient than J.G. Do well against USC, and we might have a q.b. controversy. Hopefully, this will cause J.G. to be benched the remainder of the season and he will return as our started next season.
We need to win these last few games and get bowl eligible.
Now we can't say that the O.Line is hurting J.G., He is a scrambler and a runner. He should be able to run or get rid of the ball. Keller thrived in that same environment. Why can't he??????
