Butch Jones didn't have friends in admin-- he was enabled by people who were serving their own agendas. Curry wanted to avoid a coaching search so he could spend all his time making stadium renos his legacy, the old BOT didn't want to pay more buyouts, DiPietro wanted smooth sailing to retirement and Davenport wanted to focus on academics and research, which is why she came to UT. Everybody at UT wanted to maintain status quo for another year and would have done it if Butch hadn't become radioactive. He was disliked then, now and probably forever.

JG has a better arm but KC is a better QB. Its that simple.

100%.

It’s amazing how cavalierly people talk about JG’s pocket struggles. EVERYTHING about being a QB is predicated on reading coverage,
pocket presence, and getting rid of the ball.

Having a big arm does not make up for that. It can’t.

KC is your guy.

I was outside at half what exactly did he say ...wife was saying something about 25 players to give schlorarships too or something

Pruitt had similar comments post game:

“You know what, we have four seniors that are playing on our football team right now. So, we have a lot of guys that are trying to do it the right way. Unfortunately, we’ve got some guys out right now. We’re thin at a few spots, and when you start going down the order, it showed today. So, you really couldn’t tell how some guys played and how they competed based off of us being thin at other spots. So, I think we can sign 25 guys in here and basically trade 25 for four. We’ve got some really good seniors that work hard, but we’ve really got four that are playing a lot, so it gives you a chance.”

By my count there are 11 scholarship seniors, who obviously won't be back next year. In addition, again by my count, there are about 14 players not even traveling with the team to away games (not counting players out for the season with injuries). Of those 14, five are true freshmen (Shrout, Warren, Lane, Antonutti, Davis), which leaves nine (no names!) who as RS freshmen or sophomores are getting little to no pt and are likely to be recruited over. So that's a total of 20 who either graduate or likely won't be back next year. It will be interesting to see who stays & who goes to get down to the 85 number.

Pruitt is obviously looking forward to a major upgrade with his 25 guys coming in next year.

That's a huge spread for two pretty even teams.
ESPN FPI says it’s 80% likely that they win. That’s a huge gap too. Maybe 60-40, but 80-20 seems ridiculous. Hope the guys come out and play with their hair on fire. They should feel disrespected after Saturday and the fact SC is having us as their homecoming game.

That's pathetic but it makes sense. Hell, it was the same way when Dools was here. 6-6 and he would have kept coaching into 2013. Hart didn't want to fire him.

I'm curious how much this line moves. Wouldn't be surprised to see public money going on USCe as a market reaction to last week's performance. If it moves closer to 10 points, I'll hop on it, otherwise I'll look for a number I like during the game.
