It's fun to watch these players grow up even if we know way too much info these days. His maturity shown in this tweet is a far cry from him quitting the team/video game debacle a few years ago

Generally we forget these are still kids in adult bodies. Lots of maturity still to be found. Heck... I’m 38 and I’m pretty questionable 😂

Yep. No doubt in my mind a huge part of butches downfall was making promises during recruiting. I think that incident with Kongbo is a good example of that

Well, I’m breaking my own rule and taking the Sunday morning message during football season. Topic is on intercessory prayer. Not sure if i’ll Be able to see any of the game before heading out... not sure I want the distraction or if maybe it would at least be settled in my mind if the score is out of hand before going.

Ugh... and this is why I normally don’t do this. I could probably use some intercessory prayer

Defensively we’ve gone from 82 to 47.
I’m usually a fan of Dave Bartoo, but he said in Swain’s show yesterday that he’s surprised that our defense hasn’t improved. What team is he watching? I’m not sure what numbers he’s looking at, but if you can’t see that our defense has improved by a large margin since last year I don’t even know what to say. It’s an obvious improvement.

Maybe he was not counting stats vs. nonpower 5

Nah he just couldn’t get a job. Purdue didn’t want him. He could have done what Scott or Warren did and just take a pay cut.

I wouldn’t do either. Both are such beta moves.

Pretty sure he wanted to take a year off and help his son’s high school team. I am betting he was told he needed to take something. Dooley’s buyout did not have an offset clause, so he was free to take a job and double dip.

Don’t look now but JRich is averaging 24.5 the first 2 games of the year.

That will come down but can see him being an 18-20, 4, and 4 guy all while playing 1st team level defense.

Top 50 guy imo

Heat almost traded him this offseason. If he keeps playing like this they will be glad they didn’t. Hopefully the aggressive Josh Richardson on offense is here to stay.

appyvol's recipe for success tomorrow.

Lots of zone blitzes: Alabama has scored on the deep play a loooot this season. We're not going to stay in front of them if we play man. Bring lots of pressure from every which direction and try to force them to go hot. Maybe get another strip sack or two, force a bad throw.

Go deep early and often: We are not going to be able to run the ball unless we soften up their defense. We literally have 3 of the best deep/5050 ball receivers in the league. Move Callaway around, line him up in the slot to get favorable matchups. Stay in 11 personal, that's where we have our most favorable matchups.

Protect the football: We cannot have bad turnovers this game. I mean specifically fumbles or short picks. If we get intercepted trying to stretch the field on a 40 yard deep ball, so be it.

Continue to stay hot & aggressive in the kicking game: Cimaglia has been lights out. Doyle has been a solid so far. We have to manufacture possessions and keep the ball out of their hands. Maybe third time is the charm on one of these surprise onsides kicks.
