'18 Recruiting Forum: Official Auburn Pre-Game/Game Thread

Below is a summary from a former Auburn player now an analyst for AU Rivals. He gave a complete breakdown but don’t want completely to violate rules.

“The potential for disaster exists. A loss here would be catastrophic. I think Tennessee will give Auburn all it can handle this weekend — and really pounce on a weak and struggling offense by creating some points off turnovers. However, the Tennessee offense just won’t be able to score enough points to make it really matter. I'm expecting a typical, ugly, morning game. In the end, Auburn survives the scare.
Auburn 23, Tennessee 17”

If the same JG shows up, we lose by more than the spread. If the one the coaches keep acting like is there within him shows up, toss up game with a reasonable shot to win. We can talk about all of the rest of the positions, but if you don't have a playmaker/leader at QB you will not have a good team. It's past time to know what they have in JG one way or the other.

I’m not falling for it again. I told myself we could beat WVU and UF and we weren’t close. There’s a path to victory but I won’t predict it.

Auburn - 31
Vols - 13
i think it's closer than that, because the issues at Aubur, i think, are real.

but i'm with you on the rest.

Will be an ugly game, but their front 7 will just be too much for our OL to dig in and establish any offense at all. If we score 14 points, it's because our skill players just manage to make something out of nothing on a couple drives.

24-13, we get our first TD in the fourth quarter once Auburn sets the defense to 'conservative' and walks away from the controller to take a piss break.

Honestly if he hasn’t shown anything by halftime I believe this is the game you make a switch at QB after halftime.

You have to try something at this point. Hope he does good the whole game.

Auburn 29 Vols 3. The 26 point rule (unfortunately) continues. We just can't move the football and their defense will set up their offense....

Vols have to win the first qtr to boost their confidence. Can't get down, let Auburn get fired up and rouse the fans. IDT we're built for a comeback, not OTR in the SEC.
Students are on fall break... early game... program didn't do what they were projected to do, season's on tilt... doubt the home crowd's gonna too riled up anyways...

Regardless... Auburn will have a much better football team on the field... just thought I'd point out the crowd may not be too crazy into it due to several factors

I agree. Our D has played well against UF and UG but without even a decent O you can only hold the team for so long. Especially when your D spends double the time on the field than your O.

I'm not saying I wake up on game days anxious with nervous energy. But I am saying I woke up at 530 and already changed the oil in my truck, started two loads of laundry, and am about to patch some drywall.
Lol!!! I woke up at 4:30.

Is the patching of the wall from the last game you watched us play? lol

We'll struggle to run the ball, we won't protect the qb. Very little offense for the Vols today. That gives Auburn more chances. 23-3 auburn.

What could change this are turnovers. If we can win the turnover battle, substantially, we may have a shot.

The offense is going to need help. If we get good ST play and the D can come up with some TOs, hopefully the offense can capitalize. The D may have to score a TD for us to win. TOs will sink us. Gotta take care of the ball. We need Banks, but what a risk.

I see all these high scores for Auburn and scratching my head since our D has really played well and Auburn's O has struggled about as much as ours has.
I saidi 23-3. I think our d will be on the field 30 min of 40 today. I think our d can hold up for the most part but due to our inept offense, it'll be too much.

Confident in the D (twss) but don’t think the offense will have much success. Low scoring game. Have to create some TOs
