Reflects poorly on BU's RB depth too, if their #3 only has 8 carries.

Also, big difference between powering through for less than a handful of carries per game and being a feature back in a system that doesn't fit your skill set.

If you had him running down hill for the whole game, there would be a lot of defenders who wouldn't want any late in a ball game. The more time goes on, the less I appreciate anything Jones did here. Ah, it doesn't do much for me tbh. Yes, he recruited the stud players that beat Florida in 16, but that team won in spite of him. As a football coach, he absolutely sucks.

Yeah, it's a shame. Word on the street is Jones is telling folks that this current Tennessee team should win no less than 8 games, in an effort to undermine the staff.

Hurd in an I formation, he’d still be running for 8-yard chunks. Wish we had him this year.

I think a coach like Fulmer who took players and moved them to better suit their skills (Witten for instance) would have taken the 2016 roster to the playoff. I don’t begrudge Hurd at all after things I’ve heard about Jones. Jones was the cancer. Not these other guys who moved on to further their careers.

Before this season, I still would have said Hurd but, the father we get away from Butch, the more I believe it was, at the very least, equal.

However, it's still unforgivable to me to quit on your teammates. Still a very selfish move regardless of the circumstances--he wasn't the only one having to endure Jones.

Bad sure. His record states other wise. I think he’s an average coach. You have to factor in recruiting because a lot of coaches live off recruiting to make up Xs and Os.
