The type of people who think Hurts suck are the same people who turned their noses up at Jimbo during the coaching search imo
Oh well, if you think it takes a great QB to win at bama your not watching much football. Jimbo may be able to get it done at Texas, he did once at fsu but from my opinion he wouldn't have worked hard enough here. Pruitt has a lot of work and wants to prove to everyone he can get the job done. HE IS ALL COACH.

If given the option, would you rather have Jeremy Pruitt or Jimbo Fisher as your head coach?

Just because it doesn’t take a good QB to win at bama doesn’t mean every QB that plays there is bad

Outside of easy wins against UTEP and ETSU, Jeremy Pruitt has not given Vols fans a lot to sing about in his first season. At the same time, Tennessee’s schedule has not been friendly either. All three Vols losses have been against teams that are now No. 2, No. 6 and No. 14 in the country. Is it fair to judge a first-year coach for being outscored 125-47 against Georgia, West Virginia and Florida? Unfortunately, the Vols have to face No. 21 Auburn and No. 1 Alabama out of their bye week which almost kills bowl hopes by mid-October. In total fairness to Tennessee, the expectations were not exactly sky high heading into the season.

Kelly maybe, Hurts no way, if he can't be good at bama he's not going to be good here.
It's not like he wasn't good at Alabama. He was in the running for the Heisman trophy as a true freshman. He's had 45 TD passes with only 11 interceptions over his entire career. He's serviceable throwing the ball. He's dynamic running the ball. I think he could cover up for a weak o line next year, although I think we'll be better in that department by then.

We have not bad now. Just not good enough with the lack of talent. AndI'll put this here, I like Pruitt stand by and watch our AD knows what he wants. Just didn't think jimbo would be willing to do the work it's going to take here.

How does anyone have the opinion that Fisher wouldn't have worked hard here? What? Fisher would tear it up wherever he went.

Through five games, Smith has graded out as Tennessee’s top offensive lineman, per Pro Football Focus. He’s been a road-grader as a run blocker, but he’s struggled in his transition to the edge, allowing the most pressures (8) and hurries (5) on the team.

The open date was productive for Smith though, as the extra practices allowed the sophomore to continue learn the fundaments of playing left tackle while also getting adding physical reps he missed over the summer. Pruitt said he’s seen more confidence in Smith recently, and the left tackle, who hinted he was more comfortable inside at guard, noted that sticking in one spot this season has been a blessing.

“It’s been sort of funny so far,” Smith said. “I was thinking about it the other day, how many times I switched positions and roles in games. And now, sort of solidifying myself in that one position I can sort of stick to, it’s been sort of nice being able to develop.

“It helps a lot with consistency, doing the same thing over and over again. It also helps starting to identify a couple things in games, getting used to certain movements that people are doing.”

Wonder if Trey Smith remains at LT with Wayna Morris and Darnell Wright (possibly) coming in. He's struggled there, but still our best option by far.

P

Probably get tired of satan beating his arss, afraid he get tired of the hustle. He's in a talented area as he just left .
That's true, but it's been proven just about any guy can recruit decent, rankings wise, at Tennessee. Obviously Jones had two top 5 classes, but Dooley himself signed three top 15's. Jimbo is an elite recruiter, I'd say he'd at least have us in the top ten just about every year.

If any of you guys are in the gulf near the panhandle, be smart and don’t chance it. Could get pretty rough down there.

So 24/7 did some investigating and found out UT’s schedule is hard. Also in breaking news: water is wet and the sky is blue.
I just read my old facebook "On this day" and in 2010 (under Dooley) we played the number 2 in the nation Oregon. Former number one, Alabama while LSU, SC and Florida were in the top ten.. I asked myself who else has a schedule this insane?

The answer was VOLS every single year..

Dude, Jimbo doesn't coach at Texas.

I hate it but it seems to be the case. The OL can’t execute a simple off tackle run. How can we “open up” the playbook when that’s the case?

I don’t understand it. How complicated do blocking schemes get? I thought Will Friend was an OL whisperer? Just go blow somebody up! How many times have our OL been looking behind them as if they are double checking that the RB is, indeed, going the same way they are? Never seen anything like it.
These coaches didn't suddenly get stupid..so..maybe these guys are just unteachable, or they are just so far behind in fundamentals and S&C that it is going to take forever to catch up to SEC level football.

Will Friend is a good OL coach.

Friend is a very, very good OL coach. Full confidence in him long term.

Texas A&M isn't in Texas OK. Look jimbo, urby, smart, dabo and now we're all hoping we have the nxt saban. UT was not going to pay the money to get that proven talent. ..
