We can beat SC this year. KY is overhyped like usual imo. I think they get exposed tonight. Vandy is still terrible, and Mizzou is terrible but has a really good QB. It's a winnable game. At this point, I would predict us to beat SC and Vandy and drop the other two to close out the year. Maybe we can beat the other two, who knows, especially if they have any key injuries (hopefully not). Although, our pass defense has gotten better, I'm just not sure our offense will improve enough to beat Mizzou. I would like to pick an upset win next week, I just don't see it with Auburn's DL. It may be the best in the country and our OL is not good. We'll see.

I feel pretty confident we get these two sec wins to salvage a mediocre season this year and hopefully come next year we are able to do much better facing what will be a considerably easier schedule. If we close out with some big time recruiting momentum, who knows what can happen next year with the culture being established.

24-10 Texas

During our decade of irrelevance Texas has played for a national title (2009), fallen into utter disarray and historic irrelevance (2010-2017), and may now be exploding back into the national spotlight (today).

Meanwhile in Knoxville...

I guess the holding penalty doesn’t apply to Alabama. RG on the last TD to Juedy. Clear as day.

I also think Ark got screwed on that fumble by Bama that was overturned on replay. Even McElroy said it was a fumble but “the guys in Birmingham disagreed”.

Smh.

Yep. Other teams have risen, fallen, and risen again in the time that we've just been consistently miserable (outside of two weeks in 2016).

Not so fast... We had that team in 2016... Texas may look good now but we will see.

If our pass rush plays like it did vs Georgia we can beat any of Missouri, South Carolina, Vanderbilt and Kentucky. I wouldn’t bet on it - obviously- but it’s not impossible.

For those interested in watching, the CBS pregame show at 2 central is supposed to show a segment about a boy at our church here in Germantown. Bailey developed cancer in his leg a couple of years ago, was treated at St. Jude, and is now in remission. His Mom quit her job to be with him at the hospital. It’s a great story.

Got news for folks, if Pruitt doesn't work out, Tennessee ain't coming back. Too far gone.

Inclined to agree. Don't think there's even any precedent of a team coming back after being down as long as we have at this point (while playing such tough competition and the roster being as bad as ours is). Tack on another 3-5 years of sucking or mediocrity and a full comeback will be hard to envision.

They have best talent bed in the country. It's nothing short of expected that they would have been "back" before us. They have made quite a few bonehead moves as well. We shall see. I think UT is going to do much better this year than last year, but I'm more focused on our team.

Being in the SEC is so tough if you aren't in a naturally talent rich area. When you're down other teams will just step on your neck week after week and make it nearly impossible to get back up. Doesn't help when the administration isn't all-in on football.
