I have posted about this. Our OLBs in the 3-4 scheme are getting demolished by TEs. Our OLBs are about the same size as a UGA TE. Until Pruitt can recruit his type of players, we are not going to be able to set the edge. We will get mauled in the run game, but we can get some pressure on the QB in the passing game. We just have to hope the DLine can outplay 2 defenders since Kongo and McNeil are glaring weaknesses in the run game. Not their fault and they are put in a no win situation. Someone commented after there game that UGA only had 1 play over 25 yards; however, if you really watched the game UGA could have run the ball all over us if they desired. For some reason (Chaney) they thought they would see how their passing game would do and nearly let us back in the game until they decided to pound us again in the run game. Appreciate the effort by our team, but we are outgunned. And for those that think we can upset AU, please.....they are going to run for 250+.

This is why it's gonna take at least 2-3 years for Pruitt to get his guys for this style of defense and offense. Butch Jones recruited quicker smaller guys at LB, Safety, WR.

That kind of play is exactly what they are trying to take out of football, yet the incompetent SEC crew didn't call it. Johnson is a defenseless player as he is not involved in the tackle. That may have been legit 10 years ago but not today.

That’s not tough to me and it’s fine to disagree. That should’ve been a flag. If it was the nfl he would’ve gotten flagged and fined along with a talking to from veteran players.

If one of our guys do that this season and it costs us a flag then i want the same response out of you no matter how it effects us.

It's not targeting per se. But you can easily argue that it falls within hitting a defenseless player.

Johnson can be defined as
  • a player obviously out of the play.
He was standing straight up, not tackling, as the ball carrier was on the ground.

Then they don't need to send mixed messages about player safety. I would agree if Johnson was bending down and in tackling position trying to tackle the ball carrier. But he wasn't. He was standing straight up because the UGA player was on the ground. It's just not a clean play in today's football game. Doesn't matter if the whistle had been blown or not.

The runner is literally laying on the ground when he gets nailed. Last year when we were getting to see videos of Trey Smith laying guys out, it was mid-run.

Barnett did the same thing last year on MNF and I was wrong about him getting fined for it. However this entire board took his side. It was similar type hit

i really can't think of anyone that would be eligible to leave early, that would get a high enough grade that they should. there'll probably be 1 or two that may take their chances, if they were to get a combine invite, or get some positive feedback at Pro Day.

for our prospects next year, obviously, returning anyone/everyone that can return will be a good thing.

It was a chest-to-chest hit. There was no dip in the crown of the helmet. There was no diving. Mays simply came in a touch late (yes, late, I'm admitting that) and put Alexis on his butt.

One of those mind games within the game-- "Don't forget about me at all this game"

My take would be completely different if it were a more dangerous hit.

No it can't..Not with as many mistakes as we are making now. If they first practice hard, and learn how to play freakin football how itbis supposed to be played, and vastly improve their fundamentals..then yes playing hard will surely win games.
