True. Dooley and Jones got more players from in state, and that REALLY paid off...
I know you have to be a good recruiter and a good coach as well. I also understand that you have to recruit everywhere at Tennessee from Pennsylvania to California. Just upset we can’t get at least 3-4 core Tennessee guys from at least Knoxville

Just looked at the top Tennessee high school recruits and we have ONE......ONE recruit committed to Tennessee!!!! Jackson lamprey an OL. I know we have talked about this before and I know we were 4-8 the year before but is anyone else very frustrated and nervous that of 11 four stars only one is coming to the University of Tennessee. They can’t get kids who play 5 blocks from the stadium. Just frustrated that even Dooley could get 3 or 4 from our state........ARRRGGHHHH
I don't know. Are you worried that we don't get many players from Pennsylvania or Alabama? They are about the same rank as Tennessee as far as recruiting goes.

If they are a leagacy and from Tennessee it bothers me a little. But a regular player not really.

They are usually garb, why would we want them?

The only high rated TN recruits that Pruitt and staff really wanted were Hampton and Norton. Hampton has been committed to LSU for over 2 years so Norton is the only miss. All reports look like they will flip Gray from Michigan. They are still evaluating Joseph Anderson. Its not doom and gloom.

I know it is not doom and gloom and we are still in the top 20 of national recruiting and it really doesn’t matter if you have a shutdown corner from Briar Grove Oklahoma or Nashville Tennessee. So coskramer do you really know Pruitt was only targeting a few players from Tennessee? I really don’t k kw just asking. Is he wanting a very specific player and the ones from Tennessee didn’t have that or what?

I don’t think they pushed for those other than Norton, Hampton, and maybe Patterson. Pruitt wants to see recruits camp in person before offering. I really have no issue with it, at least for now.

Well, I am not sure how that has anything to do with team speed. Just because last year's team went 0-8 doesn't mean they were automatically slower than Dooley's team.

Plus, if you want to get technical, Chaney was the interim coach for that win. Dooley didn't win one either. He went 4-6 that year. That was an awful Kentucky team that lost to Western Kentucky. Just not sure why this is all relevant to team speed. Dooley's last team was so damn slow.

it's relevant bc folks who have high expectations for this team should watch last years team. They were slow, and the talent moved to the NFL. Not an excuse, just reality. I know this cliche, but, Pruitt got this.

Not sure what you consider “high” expectations. I was hoping/expecting at least 6-6. UF is not that much better. This team has talent; it just hasn’t been developed.

But still not sure what that has to do with Dooley’s talent. His last team was slow, slow. The back end was bad on defense.

Yeah, I really hope we don't recruit Cooper Mays and Bryn Tucker.

Those two are obvious big time players. The ones you have to be careful on the rankings are the midstate kids. Rankings politics is full steam there. It's crazy to see the top 10 for Rivals vs the top 10 of 247. 247 is big on the Memphis kids like Hampton, Gray, Norton, Williams, McBride while Rivals acts like they are trash as only have the Nashville kids high. 247 seems to be in line with Pruitts view of this class

Random officiating question: Team A punts the ball, it's a duck and flys high in the air and NEVER crosses the line of scrimmage. It hits team B, and team A recovers. Whose Ball? I said Team B, since the contact was made behind the line of scrimmage it was essentially a blocked punt, recovered by the offense short of the line to gain, therefore a turnover on downs.

It’s not officially a kick until it crosses the line of scrimmage. So yes Team B gets the ball.

Your AVI reeks of troll.

Better? (This is actually my fantasy football avatar. The rest of the league hates Tennessee)
