yeah. but the story was basically written on Saturday. i watched Sunday until it just became obvious we had no shot.

i thought DJ actually played pretty clutch on Sunday. he drained some HUGE puts....problem was, they weren't for wins, they just ensured the match stayed all square. yeah Speith was not good, and i was worried about him to begin with. he's an emotional player, and there are times that when things start to go bad, they stay bad for him. that's not a recipie for the ryder cup.

woods just doesn't have it. he's never been great in match play. he can beat you up and down a golf course, cause he can make shots. but like speith, when things start to go bad, they kinda stay bad. there's a reason he's never come from behind to win a major. he's a front runner (maybe the best of of all time mind you, so i'm not hatin').

the american team, by and large was soft, mentally. that's where the euros have the edge in these types of formats. plus, i think it just means a little more to them than it does to us. you rarely hear US fans talk about a player in terms of his ryder coup/president's cup acccomplishments, just majors. in europe, your ryder cup record matters. that's why they love guys like Sergio, or Colin Montgomery etc... who don't have much by way of Majors, but has a stellar RC record.

Yeah, Friday afternoon changed everything when they let them back in it. I do feel the Rydar Cup has lost it zing in the US. Could be when we added the President's Cup. I say that cause when you only play the Ryder Cup only every other year kind of makes it more exciting. I know why they add the President's Cup and not saying its wrong, just that seems to me that its taken some zing away from the Rydar Cup. As you know at one time for the players its was soooo pumped up but don't see it as much anymore. I think Europe always has a chip to show the world that they can stand against and beat US golfer's that US players don't have. Like nothing to prove we keep winning all the Major's and you guys can have the Ryder Cup. LOL

I was fortunate enough to attend the Ryder cup on the final day a few years ago, when it was in Louisville KY. It was one of the most exciting things I've ever done. It's not your typical golf match. Lot more irreverence if you get what I mean.

I saw an article this weekend saying our coaches will be out on the recruiting trail this week-- anyone know of any specific big important visits we have scheduled? I would think we are camping out in Wanya's front yard, but who else are we putting the full court press on? Probably very difficult week for us, as we are only able to really sell playing time and culture... could possibly point to some improvement.

Lower bowl seats in the corner close to where our band will be are @ $90 right now. My bro-in-law is going to wait until first of next week and see if they drop a little more, but that’s probably where we will end up sitting unless they sell quickly.
Where can I find those?

well, no game this weekend, so i don't know how big a weekend it will be for visits, but i wouldn't rule out some unofficials maybe? but i don't know of anything scheduled.

for the Bama game, i think Cround and Taulia will be in town. and i think there'll be some others in town. not quite as big as the FL weekend, but i do think we have a pretty good list of guys coming for that game.

One of the most surprising things to me about Pruitt this fall has been how much he comes across as a teacher. I expected a lot more ‘hellfire and brimstone’ from him, especially in the wake of losses. Don’t misread that, he can certainly put on the black hat and climb all over a player if that’s required. But to me he primarily has come across as a coach who’s priority is teaching a group of guys what he wants and how to do things. There’s been a lot more patience than I anticipated.

I think that patience and focus on teaching is exactly what this team needs this week. Will it matter on the road at Auburn and at home against top-ranked Alabama? If you’re talking about wins and losses, I don’t think the open week will matter, but I do think you’ll see an improved Tennessee team in 12 days at Auburn and I think where you’ll really see the benefits of this week show up is in November.

I think he’s referring to one player on the entire team Cordaryl Patterson. Aside from that guy the team was incredibly slow. This was also a year where Justin Hunter was post injury.

Rajion Neal and Marlin Lane at RB. Those were Dooley 4 stars. Then Butch got some mileage out of Neal the next year.

well PR is a dick, so that doesn't surprise me. lol.

He is, but I have a little different view of him. I like his passion, and he is probably the best thing we have for the Ryder Cup, regardless if he plays well. He just wants to win. Obviously, calling out players is poor form, but I think he may have a point about playing with the "buddy system."

I think you are probably correct above about our player's being mentally soft, but Reed is the exception. In hindsight, the Spieth/Thomas pairing was fine, but Thomas was the one who played the best. Saturday lost it, but even down 4, you can't have your best players lose, especially when Simpson beats Rose and Finau destroys Fleetwood.

@Freak Are you going to upload a video of the UGA game? My daughter had a volleyball game so I didn't get to watch it (I did track it on my phone).
