Now they did bring up 2016 and how it was the worst day many of them have ever had lol. It was a super fun experience. Going to Auburn in a couple weeks tooIt's a fun atmosphere but honestly it's the only place I have ever feared for my safety. The Hail Mary was more than those folks could handle and I certainly wasn't leaving there that day quietly
crowd was average at best. The Dobbnail Boot was insane after. Everyone pissed off and trying to fight.
This was my second time down to Athens. Both trips have been good as this year I had zero expectations on game. Biggest issue yesterday was actually a jackass Vols fan inside the stadium. Sanford is nice but doesnt come close to the energy you get from being inside Neyland.
This criticism of starting JG reminds me so much of the constant criticism of the decision to start Dobbs. Most of his career here many insisted he didn't deserve to be starting, that it was a bad decision. Finally, I suppose early in his senior year, those fans started admitting how good he really was, that the system and the rest of the team just didn't always allow him to show it.
Of course, fans also relentlessly criticized CDC and CPF for starting Peyton over Stewart. I've learned not to listen to fans' opinion of who should be the starting QB. For many, the QB that should be the starter is the one who isn't.
He was def overrated in that aspect but he still could get better at moving in the pocket and picking and choosing spots to run. You don’t have to be a track star to do that.
Watching his high school tape, he was routinely dusting dudes. Never seem such a disparity between high school speed and college speed. Not without some sort of major injury.I'm pretty confused to how JG is so slow running. Apparently he only has straight line speed. He has no twitch and escapability. No sense of pressure. It's just really odd for such a gifted athlete to be honest.
Of everything i have seen... kc throws the ball behind or in the dirt with a good throw 30% of the time. Jg, while not reading the field great, at least puts the ball in a spot his receiver can catch it 75-80% of the time. If you want someone other than jg than throw shrout in the fire. Maybe wm but dont know how high the coaching staff is on him.Ok @HankHill...Time to give Chryst a shot...There I said it..JG is not getting better at this point, and this offense is not going to be good enough to hide his shortcomings. I know he has potential, but he just is not realizing that potential at all. He is just football dumb, and just can not process info quick enough to use his talents.
Honestly it's hard to know what we have in JG. We know we have an OL with struggles and most of us think our OC is too green right now. Hard for a "borderline"JG isnt a good pro style qb either. He is mediocre
LMAO at you people making excuses for Tiger and diddling all over him... he's a punk who had the world in the palm of his hand and made bad choices and has to live with them. He's been trying to come back for years. He was a phenomenal golfer, one of a kind, but not anymore. Show me another golfer who accomplished that much, with that much power, who went that far off the cliff...
I'm still think, and I know it's not a popular opinion, that JG didn't necessarily win the QB competition. I think this staff looked at the bigger picture. Meaning they probably felt if they started KC this year than JG would transfer leaving us in a bad spot next year. So they decided to suck it up this year. The math just doesn't add up to me with JG. Besides his toughness he has shown me literally nothing that indicates he can be anything better than an ok game manager. It's not that I don't like him. It's just that he is never going to be a leader on this team. I wish he could but he's not.I am to the point where I am willing to give him a shot. JG was average yesterday, maybe slightly below. The staff does not trust him enough with reads and progressions to throw it downfield very much. If that is our philosophy, let's see what KC can do.
