I just can’t believe he was such a highly rated dual threat QB. Is the reason for his lack of running prowess the current offensive system or his lack of ability??

He’s a throw first QB and can run “some” if needed. A lot of dual threat guys out of high school are great running players who can throw some.

I've seen it posted many times on here that he was initially rated as a "pro style" QB, but changed to the "dual threat" category because it led to him being ranked higher.

Obviously he's not a Dobbs or Tee Martin.

JG is a tough cookie. That being said he is the achilles heal to the offense. Unable to read defenses or staring down the intended receiver etc... Sure the offensive line missed assignments have not helped. For me his pouting while sitting on the bench during the Ga. Tech game last year showed me all I need to know.

He just seems very slow. I haven’t seen him scramble or tuck the ball and run at all.

Ditto, the "toughness "will only get you killed. He's a marginal passer and a non existent threat to run . Stares down the receiver every time. Chryst is a proven winner. 11and 2 at Stanford. He needs a chance to take the reins and get into s rhythm.

Name an area in which JG is an actual threat. He's not dual, he's not even single.
Look at it this way: He can't get a first down (1st threat); which leads to leaving our D on the field too long (2nd threat). Boom! Dual threat!!!!!!

*not a serious post, I just found it funny

They looked at the color of his skin and made a very inaccurate and honestly very RACIST conclusion

What a complete and total crock of hog crap.

There was an article published during JG's senior year in which his father discussed pushing for the DT label in order to expand interest in recruiting.

I think one of the main problems is every QB after Dobbs will now be judged against his running ability. Thats just unfair. Dobbs was the best running QB in school history.

14th in yards, 2nd in TDs. Hard to argue against that

Though I'd say Jimmy Streeter and Condredge are up there as well

He’s not a DT QB.

A missed evaluation by the recruiting experts.
Missed badly, About as much of a threat as Peyton Manning was at running, Lol!
He is the anti-Johnny football.
Manziel rarely had a clue what the D was doing, missed open receivers and had to scramble and run and was great at it!
JG when in the same situation looks like his feet wants to go left and his head wants to go right and ends up running into himself!

This has been said but needs repeating. This is the first year JG has had a true QB coach in college. I know some may think that doesnt mean anything, but I would argue otherwise.

We need a qb like Penn state...could use their OL and DL too, while we’re at it.
