Bro you are some kind silly.
Maybe dropping to your knees for a coach is in your bag if tricks but if Robert damn Neyland walked in my door right now I ain't dropping to my knees.
Please explain to me what you see that makes you think for a damned second he is going to be successful.
Unlike many on this board I pray he is successful but only because hes coaching the Vols.
I'm not seeing much to be honest, but I do not expect to see much. These players are simply by and large not SEC caliber players. They aren't big, strong, fast enough. That is a byproduct of a different S&C staff every year, recruiting guys got a mid major offense and defense, and underdevelopment after years in the program. The little I do see shows hope and possibility. The new crop is more in line, see Banks, Carver, Gooden, ATaylor, and more. Once we get bodies that fit and time to build those bodies then we will see what Pruitt and staff can do. Right now they are the minority in the team, once they become the majority, if, if, he is as good as his reputation, we will see what we expect. If they aren't performing, then I will gladly judge him inferior. Until then, I'm just holding position and trying to enjoy the good and bad moments without too much over reaction.
I'll be honest here as well, I wanted that mid major offense. After watching us get beat by it year after year by Florida, I thought it was something we could use since it would allow us to not go head to head in recruiting against Alabama and Georgia. But they figured it out defensively and that is how the cookie crumbles. I didn't understand many other facets of that style of football, mainly the fact that it severely underdevelops players since it is predominately star player oriented which works in conferences with lower ability players. In the SEC, it just doesn't work once the schemes caught up to it. As such, I understand that until we get rid of all that junk we won't be able to do much.
The blanket negativity just gets to me, I don't know if Pruitt will be successful, and I know that not one single person here knows whether he will or won't either.
I'm behind the team and program without announcing his failure or his Hall of Fame induction.
