Missouri rushers enter the weekend averaging 3.9 yards per carry, which ranks 87th out of 130 FBS programs, and the Tigers have yet to face a Power 5 defense.

Yes they are maulers up front. It’s 3 seconds and the ball is out. And that’s why they don’t give up sacks.
YPC means very little for the Oline. UT is averaging 4.41 and Aub is averaging 4.48, Bama is averaging 5.17 and Kansas is averaging 5.18, Virginia with 5.52, UF with 5.77, ect, ect.

Btw Mizz is averaging 4.46 and has played two P5 teams.......

That’s an OC/Playcalling issue, not a “JG needs to step up” issue.

JG definitely needs to get much better. But you’re definitely stretching to act like he’s in a position where many would thrive to begin with or like there are QBs all over the country playing behind OLs who are less productive than ours has been the pst two years.

I’m not blaming everything at all on JG. That’s the problem around here. You can’t criticize him without people getting their pitch Forks.

I said we need to get the ball out quicker, which is scheme and player...

I think JG is athletic enough to be moving in the pocket more making it hard on Defenders to get shots on him. He doesn’t move well in the pocket imo.

And i think he’s missed several downfield shots by underthrowing and floating them. Thats not good for someone who is supposed to be oozing with arm talent.

This whole thing is giving me a headache. I don't want to argue anymore...I'm sick of gross stupidity and disingenous cherry picking.

JG is not the reason for this teams struggles, he has played well so far for what they have allowed him to do, and the situations he has been put in. This OL is not just playing badly...that is the understatement of the century...they are absolutely, totally HORRID to this point...

I do believe there is enough individual talent there that they can get better and not be the worst...But until they do...they are just the WORST.

“Yards per carry means very little for the OL”

😂😂 I’m done.

Oh and just for arguments sake. Pitt allowed the 2nd fewest sacks IN THE NATION Petermans senior season. They had 3 Olinemen make all ACC. Both tackles made the top 2 teams. They were one of the top offensive linemen groups in the country. Can you atleast provide an argument as to why Richmond would start? Other than he played good vs Florida and Pitt is a crappy school there for their Oline sucks?

Bump.

Black is black and white is white. It is not an opinion...this OL is the worst I have seen ever at Tennessee, and the worst I have seen anywhere this year. That is a fact.

So for argument, how much better would they be if the QB released the ball 0.5 seconds faster? What about 1.0s faster? Would they be worse still if the QB was even slower? What would be the difference in sacks given up between those extremes? That's the problem with such absolutes, there is more than one part to the system.

Not to mention you literally pulled stats from before the third week to try to prove a lame point. You’ve already admitted NFL is a lot better than CFB, so I have serious doubt you you follow CFB outside of UT.

Each of those QB's played behind significantly better offensive lines.

Kyle Shurmur is a senior and has been starting since 2015. Same coaching staff entire time.

Drew Lock is a senior, playing behind the biggest OL in the SEC. Been starting since 2015.

Peterman played in a weaker conference, behind a good OL, and had started 22 games before the start of his senior season.

JG plays behind a pathetic offensive line, is on his third offensive coordinator already, and has started less than 10 games.

So again I ask, can you please point to the "a lot" of QB's who are in similar situations to JG yet are excelling?

We have 6 OL in our two deep who were either 4 or 5 stars. Sure, they miss on evaluations but not that many. Other than the top 5 teams in the SEC and Ohio State and Clemson, I would like to know how that compares with everyone else.

I do know that UK has one 4 star on its starting OL because I compared their starters to ours. Our issue is not talent.

Release what??..These guys are literally ushering defensive players into the backfield..I mean it looks like they would accidentally block better than they do...There is an OL breakdown or multiple breakdowns on almost every freaking play. Watch the tape..it doesn't lie or cherry pick.

2 of those guys are in their first year here or are a freshman. Richmond is the big disappointment. Smith missed a ton during the off season, and is playing out of position.

It'll get better. Just not this season

I know a coach at Whitehaven whose team scrimmaged Richmond’s team his senior year in high school. I still remember him saying that Richmond had talent but thought he would be better at guard in college. I’ve always wondered if he would be better sliding over.

Missouri’s highest player in yards per rush is 17th in the SEC. chandler and London are 12th and 9th fwiw.

It’s quick short throws for their offense which is why they don’t give up a lot of stats and Drew lock is averaging 7 yards per PA. (JG is averaging 9 btw).

Can we just play four guards and a center? Problem solved! :D

Like I said YPC don’t mean much for an Oline. Surely you don’t think Bama has an average Oline half of the years? I’m well aware of what they average, thanks
