You guys saying you have already determined Pruitt can’t do the job and it’s time to fire him and start the coaching search again?
Not what I've said at all. He deserves a chance. I think at this point he's over his head. Too many first times for this staff. He/they are learning on the fly. I have no idea whether hes up to the task or not but with each week my confidence dwindles.

He better be able to recruit because it's going to take good players consistently for several years. Can he do that while putting on displays like we saw yesterday?

No one said that at all. Saying we’ve “rebuilt” 3 times now. At some point, one would assume there would be talent here. Never seen anything like this. We keep hitting rock bottom every 3-4 years. It’s freaking Groundhog Day
It’s amazing. I thought when Jones was here that even if he was ultimately unsuccessful, at least the roster would be in better shape. Nope. Nothing has changed.

At some point we’re going to have to stop talking about “rebuilds” and recognize that the program just is what it is now: a bottom-dweller.

We held on to Butch one year too long, as we did with Dooley. Butch wanted out at the end of the 16 season as did Dooley the year before he was fired. Lesson: Get rid of coaches that don't want to be here, immediately.

Its one thing to lose games I mean hell, everyone is just hoping for 6/6 and a bowl game.

The team did not look coached last night. That was literally the worst half of football I have ever seen from a Tennessee team and it sure as hell isnt going to help recruiting.

Its obviously way to early to make any judgement about this staff, but we are experts around here at diagnosing ****** coaches and you can already see the script for how this thing can go south.

No. If he can keep this class together and show strong player development into next year, he might be able to use in-state 2020 talent to peer recruit enough to start turning the corner. But that's going to be tough to do if we dig the hole deeper this year.

Or maybe it takes time to rebuild a program.

Unfortunately, no one is buying or has the patience for that narrative anymore... It's been 11 yrs since Kiffin. On paper we have more talent than SC, Vandy, KY, Mizz, and about the same as FL... yet we are playing like a Div ll team right now with JV play calling... We do know and understand it takes time, but not many want to hear that right now after all these years. Fair or unfair.

Yeah that first half was something I've never seen in my 38 years. It was like a bad nightmare of the worst possible things happening over and over. Wild.

Fair or unfair. Buy or don't buy. It's reality. THIS ENTIRE PROGRAM HAS TO BE REBUILT. Time to process a bunch of guys out and start over from scratch. I watched the post game presser, Pruitt has the mentality to do it, just need to recruit and rebuild. Going to take many years.

Or we can fire him after a few years and do it all over again and again and again. Sadly this will likely be what happens.

Everybody's concerned about Pruitt being run off too soon. I think it's the opposite-- IMO, he'll be the one to leave when he decides the time is right.
I was going to say this. He won’t stick around if it isn’t going well. Could very easily see him jumping ship to another program or resigning to take a DC job.

Defensively, I think Pruitt said it correct that tackling is our biggest issue. We need major help on the D-line. When Florida's Running backs get tackled they fall forward for 3 yards instead of going backward 3 yards.

UT has been obtuse about seeing the signs. It was clear Kiffin was going to bolt, too, and UTAD was totally unprepared. No contingency plan whatsoever. That's where the snowball started.

Hate Pennington but love when Overstreet is on the show breaking down the OL.
On the safety -
Not a single OL got on the other side of the L.O.S. in the attempt.
UF knew exactly where we were going with the run, their mlb took steps towards our left side before the snap because they had already discovered that we have no other option in those situations.

On scheming to compensate for the OL -
Basically, you can't. You can roll out etc; for a play or 2 but you can't do it an entire game or half,. whatever. Once you play your cards a couple of times, then their defense just compensates.
Bottom line, we need SEC talent on the line, not tricks to try to mask it.

I can’t take another coaching search. Just let Fulmer give him what he needs to be successful and ride it out even if it takes 5-6 years.

Problem is, I saw the faces of this fan base leaving last night. I heard the majority saying they would not be back until we put something on the field worth spending money on.

So what's a reasonable progression for Pruitt or any coach for that matter? Should we see a winning record by year 3? Should we expect to leapfrog some SEC east team in the next 3 or four years to become 2nd worse instead of worst? What's reasonable in your mind? I don't mean this in a SA way. I'm generally curious as to how long it should take for Coach Pruitt to field a competitive SEC east team.
