we're not going to be that patient. and it's almost insulting to ask us to conitnue to be, if i'm being honest.
i'm sick of this.
we see teams every year have these magical turn around seasons. or pull huge upsets.
but never us. we're always "next year'.
i'm sick of it. i've been patient. i go to games. i make game day a big deal. we all wear orange. we fly flags off the house. we do what fans do. we're die hard.
i'm effing tired of losing. all. the. freaking. time.
that's it. just win. hell, just be competitive. i'd settle for that at this point. don't be 3 TD's worse thatn what will likely be the 4th best team in the East. at best, the 3rd.
PRUitt doesn’t have that long. Fulmer will be Hc by then with 10 fans in the standsRandom thoughts:
Helton getting paid over 1 million per year is the most laughably Tennessee thing ever. It’s painfully obvious that he doesn’t have a knack for playcalling.
Smith needs to be at OG. I know he’s been banged up a bit, but he’s just not a LT. Maybe sliding him back inside helps us on 1st and 2nd down when we run it between the tackles.
The Sapp thing is especially weird since he’s never been a headache for coaches before.
This is just a way bigger rebuild than any of us wanted to admit. We’re just gonna need 3-4 years of recruiting and development to get to the point where we can compete week in week out. We may end up needing some staff adjustments on offense if Helton can’t be a fast learner, though
Stoops and UK might be a model of what we’re gonna have to hope for from Pruitt and this rebuild. He was a guy who had worked with some great coaches, but had no HC experience. Year one was about as bad as things could get. Next two years weren’t great, but eventually the culture he wanted took root and you could see development the next two years. Continuity has been huge for them and now they’re in a position to have a shot at their best season in decades.
My fear is he's Will Muschamp at Florida. Can put a good defense on the field, but is pretty lacking when it comes to offensive football. Helton is looking like a bad hire. If I'm not mistaken, I think Saban actually replaced both of his coordinators after his first year though. I could see Pruitt telling Helton to take a hike if things don't improve.
Someone at the game posted on Twitter that Sapp quit the team.
Yeah. Its honesty like they aren't focusing on football and its something they have to do not want to doThe thing is, though-- they're getting worse. Still out of position, still taking the wrong angles, still not tackling, still not protecting the ball. It's like football is new to them and most of them were highly regarded recruits. It's baffling how they can be this bad.
No coach killer here. Can you honestly say this team has looked well coached? I realize there are issues with this roster, especially on o line. But you can't tell me there aren't staffs out there who get much better results with less. That is what we need to progress. Because if we want for our offensive coordinator to get better recruits with the record were going to end up you better pack a lunch and a tent cause your going to be waiting indefinitely. Here we go...like I just said..."coach killers"
BS. the overwhelming vast majority of fans had this team at 6 or 7 wins.I said before the season that it didn't matter who the coach was, this team isn't winning more than 7 games. Got called all sorts of things for saying it'd be one heck of an accomplishment if this team made a bowl. Folks were pretending like this staff was going to come in here in one off season and turn crap around. It doesn't work way. Losing cultures like this take time to fix.
Not BS. I got called on the carpet numerous times over the offseason for saying this team would do good to win 6, and given the circumstances, it'd basically be a miracle of this staff could pull off more than 7 wins.BS. the overwhelming vast majority of fans had this team at 6 or 7 wins.
stop pretending to be a victim.
This rebuild is going to be different. I think any message about "being patient" or "it's a process" is going to fall on deaf ears and the dropoff in fan support is going to be apparent. Really, it's amazing people have been patient as long as they have. I doubt any program but UT could have sustained such a high level of fan support through this debacle of a decade.
Seriously during the third quarter down by 30 points it got loud on third down. This rebuild is going to be different. I dunno. I keep saying the bill for UT's indifference towards its fanbase is eventually going to come due, but it never does. You really think this year is different?
