With all of the talk of Frank's struggling, I'm not going to be surprised to see Mullen trot Emory Jones out there at some point during the game. A few weeks back, their beat writers were saying Jones should be playing instead of Franks from the start. I really don't want to see another weird back-up QB situation occur.

Emory may get the start if he's a better dance partner than Franks.

Our interior run blocking is terrible.

I assume Hall might replace Richmond, but I wouldn’t mind seeing Hall replace Smith at OT and move Smith back inside right now.

Does Hall have the mobility to be a Left Tackle? Is his conditioning where he can go a full game?
I think that Coach Friend is getting his best 5 OL out there in their best position...

One team I would have bet would have been on this list back around 2011 is Penn State. They were already falling into mediocrity, then the scandal broke and essentially they were at the 7 count and somehow pulled themselves off the floor. It is baffling how they overcame that and are back on top now in such a short period of time.

Not to be argumentative, but back on top of what? They're doing at this point better than I would've expected, but I think it's a stretch to say they're back on top. Their record has been helped by the fact that they only have to play 2 or 3 good team per year.

Looking at Franks stats and he is terrible throwing to his left. He is 3-9 for 21 yards with 1 TD and 1 Int. Take away passes thrown behind the LOS and he is 1-6 for 6 yards 1/1 TD/Int.

That’s a pretty odd stat. That could mean a few things tho. Admittedly i haven’t watched every snap of UF but i wonder if their OL is going ok and picking up the blitz well.
It seems like a kind of obvious thing, though. I’d guess most QBs struggle more when pressured by an effective 4 man rush than with a blitz. Blitzes usually leave somebody open or an area of the field vulnerable to a strike. If your front 4 can pressure the QB alone, then in theory there are fewer holes in the coverage to be exploited by a QB under pressure.

Sure. My hypothetical assumes he is healthy and as good as we’ve seen him in the past, which isn’t a given by any means

This is why I'm not confident. I'm sure this guy is deliberately pulling the worst failures, but holy mother of God...Ryan Johnson had some terrible reps. On one of the sweeps (with which we actually had some success) Jerome Carvin pulls and is in a good position to make a key block and extend the play...instead he runs towards the sideline and the play goes inside of his position (if went outside of him, 3/4 of both teams would have been out of bounds).

That play made me laugh a little because it seemed like the LBs keyed completely in on Carvin and followed him so far outside that it made an easy lane for the RB to make a cut.
