“I know folks are wondering if Tennessee will dial up more blitzes Saturday against UF ... but the data suggests the best way to get Franks off rhythm is with simply four-man pressures.

UF's quarterback is 12 of 19 with 5 touchdowns when blitzed, per PFF. However, he is just 3 of 14 for 22 yards when facing pressure by a standard rush.”

-Jesse Simonton

This actually surprised me to be honest.

Sorry to hear that, man. It makes pissing and moaning about football seem so pathetic.

There's always a silver lining. I think there's a good chance they move over here to be closer to us. It's still just jaw dropping to know that one of those flooded houses on cable news belongs to my parents...

“Uh. Suddenly?”

-Every Vol fan
One team I would have bet would have been on this list back around 2011 is Penn State. They were already falling into mediocrity, then the scandal broke and essentially they were at the 7 count and somehow pulled themselves off the floor. It is baffling how they overcame that and are back on top now in such a short period of time.

Can't be complete stats. Only 33 passes

Sounds like he's good at slinging it out to a hot route on a blitz (less thinking, more of an automatic read?), but struggles when he actually has to sit back and find an open person in a crowd?

That's a weird stat. I don't really know what to do with it. I'd have a hard time not sending the house from his right to make him run left.

That’s how I feel about it too. I believe going after would be ideal as well.

Is this just the times he’s been pressured on the throw? If so 33 is a pretty high number this early

In his previous job at Mississippi State, Florida coach Dan Mullen wrung all he could out of the players he recruited to Starkville. Now that he is in Gainesville, Mullen will have a wealth of riches to mine from the state’s hotbed of talent. But he is presently working with Jim McElwain’s recruits, rather than the players he’d like to see in orange and blue. If anything, Florida’s name brand is leading to an overvaluation from Vegas. There are enough concerns for the Gators before their trip to Knoxville that, while they may win, they will not cover.

Pick: Tennessee +5.5
Confidence Level: Very High
(on a scale of Low/Moderate/High/Very High/Extremely High)

Is Florida a shaky road favorite against Tennessee?

Same guy picked LSU with "High" confidence over Auburn last week.

I think Franks does a good job of escaping and extending the play when blitzed and things break down so he can find the one receiver.

If he has to stay in the pocket and go through reads he struggles.

It's pretty simple. The NCAA doesn't care about protecting children and making an example of bad actors anymore.

And when we lose contain, our defensive linemen are not fast enough to catch the QB in most cases. Therefore, we should try our best to keep Franks in the pocket.

Quick update on my 75 year old Grandfather. Tumor is too big and deep for biopsy. Seems to be getting more dizzy/unstable by the day now. I think he is going to get some sort of spinal tap thing and that may show if it's cancer. Previously had lymphoma about 5 years ago and had successful chemo. I'm getting pretty worried at this point... Not sure what there is to do treatment-wise yet. Thanks for the prayers again guys.

The single thing I am not worried about for this game is Pruitt's game planning on defense... The time that this dude is putting in is probably epic. We may not have the best talent top to bottom currently on our D roster, but I really think that now that he has enough game tape on our kids, we will be ready for Franks and co.

I am sure they will exhaust all efforts to figure out the best route/outcome to this... prayers.

Jesse's always giving away our secrets. Wait what. Jk. Acting like a reporter is going to have better scouting reports than a coach and may give away secrets about game footage is silly imo.

With all of the talk of Frank's struggling, I'm not going to be surprised to see Mullen trot Emory Jones out there at some point during the game. A few weeks back, their beat writers were saying Jones should be playing instead of Franks from the start. I really don't want to see another weird back-up QB situation occur.

That’s a pretty odd stat. That could mean a few things tho. Admittedly i haven’t watched every snap of UF but i wonder if their OL is going ok and picking up the blitz well.
