I do a mean scrambled eggs for breakfast. I get what you are saying now about the quarterback has to lead, given time, JG will hopefully (has shown improvement), given time. Improvement from game to game is what everyone is watching. He has shown that he has progressed, haven’t seen enough of KC, to judge.UT doesnt have any SEC caliber QB's right now. The QB is the field general. Our field general is more like a DFAC prep cook who can whip together a mean scrambled egg..
KC is mop up duty only. JG has room to improve..but it better happen soon. This Saturday is literally the battle to see who isn't the worst team in the SEC East.I do a mean scrambled eggs for breakfast. Yes I have and no I didn't. I said he was closer to being replaced than some of his devotees think. He has to keep coming along. I've said a couple of times that he seemed to do that in this game... and I'm not talking about him passing.
Not pessimism. Criticism. They aren't the same and I have never said that he couldn't overcome his weaknesses... only that he needed to. I never took you as one that denied he had weaknesses... but some bristle at any suggestion that he isn't perfect. k-town king for instance.
I also said that his adjustments and line calls make a difference in the run game. So he gets a lot of credit for the run game's apparent improvement this week.
I think he has the physical skills to become a great UT QB if he continues to develop the other part of his game and makes good decisions.
I gave JG credit where credit was due. He is a manageable, adequate QB. He isn't going to light up the scoreboards. Thats a fact. 1 TD ever game and a half for his collegiate career just reinforces that fact. So when people say "Why aren't we throwing this or doing that??" they need to remember we don't have an SEC/FBS quality QB. JG barely even shows up on FBS QB stats outside of completion %. Completion % doesnt win games.
No matter how much you wish upon a shining star JG's stellar completion % will never make up for his terrible scoring production. 2 TD's in 12 quarters against literally the worst defenses they will face almost all year..
I agree with this. Our saving grace this season will be the defense stopping the other team. Our offensive line just isn't that good. I like the adjustments Helton had made during games, we just don't have a line.IMHO, he didn't trust the pass protection to hold up to that. I'm not saying he threw the game or anything close to that... I do suspect he mitigated the risk to JG in a game that had gotten out of hand already.
Lol. You think that's an insult, but Kyle Shurmer is an NFL prospect.Total Quarterback Rating - College Football - ESPN

I still think they can be decent if they find a solution at LG. R Johnson and Carvin appear to be coming along. In spite of a tough game, Richmond is serviceable.... and Hall should be back at some point. I just don't think Jahmir Johnson looks like he's "getting it".I agree with this. I think Helton knows this and is objective enough to try to do what's best for what he has.
Forget being "sec level" it's not even good enough to remain in the top 10.
