I think you're reaching. He worked with kids every year, something he didn't have to do.They could have paid mack. They chose not to. And there is really no evidence that he's a good recruiter. Just because he was on TV doesn't mean he can actually recruit. A big part of recruiting is evaluating. There's a lot of evidence that Gruden is a bad evaluator of talent. A salesman who can't evaluate sounds like our last coach.
Not really even close to Manning passing academy. It was just a promotional thing for pr going into drafts. It provided no real value other than learning how to pretend to pay attention so they look better for real coaches who may draft them.Recruits still know him for his QB Camp. Getting invited to that is like getting invited to the Manning passing academy
He was gm of the bucs for years and turned that roster into garbage. That is plenty of evidence of evaluation. And his rosters were always among the oldest in the league. That is evidence that he doesn't really like coaching kids unless it's just for promotional TV appearances. I just don't understand why people like him so much. He's overrated.I think you're reaching. He worked with kids every year, something he didn't have to do.
Mack wouldn't even come to the table. Sure they could have paid him what he wanted but that is typically not the way it's done. Mack didn't want to be with the raiders.
There is zero evidence he's a bad talent evaluator. He's never recruited high school players so their is no way to know.
There is some evidence that recruits would have been attracted. Several very high profile recruits mentioned that if TN hired Gruden that it would be a game changer.
I'm no defender of Jon Gruden but I'm willing to acknowledge that he MAY have done well at the college level. Your talking in absolutes demonstrates your hatred for Gruden which may be clouding your judgement.
Regardless, it's all hypothetical so there's really no way to prove it one way or another.![]()
