Not gonna happen...and I think Pruitt is the reason why. Seems way more concerned with creating an identity than Ws and Ls this year.
I agree with the create an identity part. I do not agree that he thinks it is more important than wins and losses. I think he thinks by creating an identity, we are more likely to win any game whether it's this year or later.

I'm happy with who we got, but you can't judge these other guys after three games. Morris is an excellent offensive mind whose trying to throw the ball with a team built for the run. Mullen is a spread guy playing with an offense recruited for a pro style. He needs a mobile QB, and well, Frank's don't fit that bill. Taggart is a **** show tho.

Great game for the Vols. Showed exactly the growth we needed to see. These two games were never going to show more than progress and improved fundamentals. Check on both.

59-0 would not mean anything more to me than this.

I did not see the Florida game, but surface level view of the numbers would leave me very concerned if I was a Gator. Final score does not seem to tell the story... in the opposite way ours fails to tell the story.

Look forward to presenting the Game Thread this week... still not sure who I’m picking
There are games where a score is lopsided and then you review the stats and shake your head. There were many games under Butch where we dominated scoreboard but I didn’t feel like we dominated the team we beat.

Florida actually helped Colorado States defensive stats. They were allowing 550 yards per game. Their offense did to Florida what they did to everyone else.

Here’s why score was lopsided.

Punt block TD
Punt return TD
3 fumbles lost
3 turnover on downs when they had to go for it to overcome the things above.

Florida won convincingly but didn’t dominate an inferior opponent. Their DL now has 3.5 sacks on the year and they have to blitz to get pressure up front. We run the ball, we win!

Anybody here still think Vandy is a "cupcake", and a should-be auto win this year..hatred of Vandy notwithstanding? Five wins is going to be a tough chore for this team..this year.

Florida did run for over 200 yards and won by 38. The numbers don't tell the whole story, and Franks still looks pretty bad, but it was a solid win for them. I still have good hope heading into Saturday.

Is there a single coach on our realistic list last year that still looks good?

Purdue
Iowa State
FSU
Nebraska
NC state
Raiders

Hell I can't think of one coach showing out right now
I’ve never understood any of the Taggart love at all (and said as much during the search). What an awful, awful downgrade for FSU.

To be fair, though, I also wanted Chip Kelly some kind of bad, and, well... ouch. His team looks pretty bad too.

The Florida game will tell us . The lose will have a tuff year . We have to win . GBO
I hate to say it, but winning this game is probably the difference in four or five wins...unless UK or VU have some significant injuries to key players. We can win those games, but not if our offense is still tripping all over themselves by that time...and we have to come out of the meat grinder relatively healthy.

Have to win 3 of these 5 to consider this any kind of good year

Florida
Vandy
Kentucky
South Carolina
Mizzu

We have way too many experienced football players to not have that expectation

I'm all in with Pruitt. Don't give a rat's azz about the other candidates.

Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.

This is Pruitt in a nutshell.

Errbody - please reread this. We have a real head football coach - not a non-motivational speaker, faux lawyer, and Joey Freshwater.

Much prefer building it the right way over short cuts from wannabes. CJP is developing a physical, fundamentally sound, football smart program. My goal remains the same - make a bowl for the extra practices. I believe they will get it done and the first step will be Saturday.

I wish that we had some more cupcakes before we got ready for SEC but it is what it is. Pruitt is having to change this team physically, fundamentally and psychologically. Florida will be telling.

The way I see it, Tennessee has one more sure victory, 3 certain losses, and 4 toss ups, with a decent shot at USCe

I try to be positive, but this is how I see it.
