The Official Tennessee vs. UTEP Game Thread, 12:00 PM ET, SEC Network

I agree. JG isn’t the problem right now.
But haven’t you been reading Freak. He held the ball too long last year, didn’t look great, so now he’s irredeemable. He can’t possibly improve. Completing 70+% of his passes with no turnovers ain’t good enough and never will be. We gotta make up ish about how he locks in to one guy, can’t read anything, holding on to the ball too long, etc, etc. He just evidently sucks and has gotta go.

Nobody eats their own/hates their own QB like Vol fans, especially keyboard warriors on VN. We have a long, long history of it.

Haha our fan base gets so butt hurt when you express an opinion different from their own. It's laughable. JG fan boys are strong in this thread Again he stares down his targets and everyone know that Callaway will be his go to guy. Two years ago JJ was our best reciever and now everyone is on the Callaway train. Could it be that we have two great receivers but our QB has a favorite?

You're the only one whining, 5 of his completions have been to 4 different receivers. You're complaining that a QB has a go to receiver? Just think about that.. lol you sound ridiculous

I don’t think we have the horses up front on either side of the ball. When you’re bad up front, the rest of the team looks worse.
I would agree to an extent but I remember us throwing two very undersized walk-ons into the starting lineup on o-line and they held their own against SEC talent.

These are bigger bodies who were recruited and they can't get it done. Some of this is mentality I believe.

Was expecting the defense to start looking better than it has. Gonna be a rough year. Richmond always seems to find a way to kill drives with mental errors

UTEP seems really poorly coached...and of course we still seem to lack explosiveness on either line. Guess that's something we need to get used to until Pruitt gets his guys in...

I said this in another post. This is why we have not been good the last several years, it's very frustrating

Wtf is wrong with you. Callaway is BY FAR the best WR on the team, not even close. And so far, DWA has 2 catches, Palmer has 1, Callaway has 1 and Brandon Johnson has dropped both balls thrown to him. Open your eyes and stop complaining about a QB completing 70%+ of his throws.

KB there is a positive and negative here that we have to be honest about. Something is still a little off with the offense and of course it's several things but the goal is to get into the endzone not just complete 70% of your passes.

I think JG got it in his head that short passes with a high completion % and no turnovers alone is winning football. He has to hit some chunk plays.

Of course after last year most anything looks better but we shouldn't get lulled into the 70% completion only. This will be the defenders mantra and trust me I'm not getting on to JG. I think he is doing a lot better but he still has a ways to go. We need TD passes. I doubt the OC is not calling plays that can get into the end zone.

Hell, some of our fans are still hating on Dobbs to this very day.
