Amateur Hour Continues

Are you denying we have rifts with our allies? The way his supporters act is catastrophic to civil dialogue, unity, and general welfare of the American society.
I'm simply asking questions. You said he is catastrophic ("imo") and used rifts as one of your 3 examples.
Where is the catastrophe ?
[adjective
1.
involving or causing sudden great damage or suffering.
2.
extremely unfortunate or unsuccessful.]

An example of something tangible?
And, how do you separate the Enquirer stuff from his policy?

I like the tax cuts....all we do is waste our money, I like the deregulation he is doing and I hope it continues, I also like him trimming staff from govt departments.

The national enquirer stuff has been going on before trump just not to this level..... He considers this his version of winning. He wants it chaotic on the outside while he tries to get done what he wants to accomplish.

I see a bunch of general bitching back and forth. People, including country leaders, generally don’t like being called out for not meeting prior commitments.

I see absolutely zero decommittments to mutual defense either way.

Let them bitch. Who GAF

Thank you. I may not agree (fully) but I appreciate the well-thought answer.

See...I dont think it is. A catastrophe isn't really a subjective thing, is it. Catastrophes are self evident, obvious, easily evaluated.

Your attempt to bring the subjectivity to it really illustrates the lack of substantive elements to your claim.
The castastrophe is still unfolding. It's like getting hit with a category 5. You already know where this is headed.

A projected catastrophe, then. The forecast calls for catastrophic damage, in your opinion. Cool. I affirm your ability to create opinions.

But, using future tense is a bit different using than saying 'he is a catastrophe' in present tense.

It's both. Current and projected. If you want to call it some hyperbole, that's fine. It's a matter of perspective. I think a lot of the things he's done is going to cause and has caused lasting harm. We're still waiting for the storm assessments.

I consider myself an independent although right now I cant vote democrat on the national level bc of their message. I dont agree with everything Trump has done such as the trade war but I also understand what he is trying to accomplish.

I'd like to see the current catastrophe. The most obvious future one, for me, is the tariff rhetoric.

It's nice to simply have an exchange of ideas without the emotional vitriol for a change.

What is he trying to accomplish with his trade war?

He is trying to get us a better deal.....Just like when he was calling china currency manipulators and then it was announced they would buy alot of their coal from us. After that, he came out and stated the chinese are great, great people. It is how operates.....puts pressure on something.....gets enough of what he wanted in return and then changes course.

That, the lack of civility, the divisiveness, I think the Iran withdrawal is a bad idea, I think his climate change thinking is outdated, the corruption in his cabinet is unprecedented, the lack of accountability in that corruption, his immigration policy is uber-extremist, his Russian lean is disturbing on so many levels, his tax cut isn't going to produce the desired effects except to those least needing it, his attacks on our intelligence institutions and the media will have long lasting implications, his lack of any healthcare plan after promising it as a central part of his campaign, and again being involved in 4 current serious investigations . That's a little. There's certainly more. Like I said, perspective.

Well, to your credit I see "divisiveness", "outdated", "extremist", "disturbing"...many adjectives but no "catastrophe". Takes a while but you eventually find something reasonable to share.

How do you want to measure the rift: Trade, open communications, sharing of intelligence, poor public sentiment of our allies toward us? All those things have been greatly damaged that I combined in the term rift. All of those things are directly "involving" Trump.

Catastrophic damage typically isnt hidden, Luther. The Tsunami in Indonesia was catastrophic. The damage was everywhere. Thus, a catastrophe.
Look, I'm happy to debate ideas tooth and nail. But this melodrama with Trump as the modern day JR Ewing is tiresome.
It is. Either you see it or you don't. I do. You don't. Discussion does seem tiresome.

I like the term rift. I find it to be adequately descriptive. Catastrophe is an entirely different connotation. Here are some synonyms:
disaster, calamity, cataclysm, holocaust, havoc, ruin, ruination, tragedy;

I'm just trying to figure out how you all justify all of this. It's fascinating to me.

And we sit aroundrubbing our foreheads going holy Sh*t those liberals can’t be this dumb , but everyday that goes by they seem to one up themselves . It fascinates is by makes us sad at the same time . The we pretty much just point and laugh .

EMOTIONS .... they can’t seperate their emotional turmoil from real life so it’s all a catastrophe .

This catastrophe is hard to see by all then. May be the first time in the history of calamities.
I'll liken it do AIDS. It was years before the general population recognized it as a catastrophe. Global warming is another example. You will not see the effects of the catastrophe until it is to late to avoid the catastrophe. Trump is the catastrophe, some of the effects are now visible and some will only become more visible with time. Many will never attribute the effects to Trump.

Let me change a few words if you will. You seem to think that word is harsh but I find it an adequate descriptor. No sense in arguing about it. What would you find as an adequate negative descriptor for Trump?

Yeah, I figured someone who's so black and white in their thinking couldn't have a rational discussion about this. By the way, you left out most of my post in the"descriptors" you listed. Well done. That's the problem with most of you, you can't see the forest for the trees.

As with TT, I say cool. Your forecast is for the impending catastrophe.
Good to see you finally agreeing the catastrophe is not visible right now.
