Think I'd kill to have a football team that looks like LSU. Have a connection with Tommy Moffit down there. He's the truth. Spent some time at Tennessee back in the 90's.

State of Louisiana. Ridiculous how much talent they can get without leaving the state.

Their starter was from south Florida. 239 boy that played 15 minutes from me, he’s a tank. Gonna be next in the long line of dudes in that backfield.

The fact is, no program has experienced the kind of instability we have. You don't recover from that in a few months. Firing Fulmer may have made sense (firing Richt seems to have worked out for Georgia, after all), but the fact is that we've run through four coaches since then. LSU has had two coaches in the last 13 years and we've had five. Five!

I want to get back to where we were, too, where we can compete with the LSUs and the Alabamas and the Georgias on a consistent basis, but it's just going to take time. Transitions are hard and we've had a ton of them. We were this close in 2015-2016 before Butch went full Butch (and you never go full Butch), and I'm deeply confident that the 2013 team was worse than this one.

Our miserable decade is why I can't ever forgive Lane Kiffin -- nothing against him personally, but nothing was more pathetic than people begging for him to come back last year as we were running out of options. His decision to leave in the middle of the night sent this program into a spiral from which it still hasn't recovered. But it's gotten close to recovering, and if Pruitt is the coach we hope he is, it will happen.

And now I hate Mike Hamilton with a bright, fiery, and brand new passion all over again.

Ok, so this is kind of my preseason prediction, tiering of opponents, and whatever post:

Tier of Opponents: This is the CURRENT position of each program, based on talent and projected win totals, IMO. If I see a clear pecking order within the tier, I will list it as such. Otherwise, it gets a /

1. Alabama
__________________________

2. Auburn / UGA
__________________________

3. West Virginia
South Carolina
Mizzou
__________________________

4. Florida / Kentucky
__________________________

5. Vandy
__________________________

6. Charlotte / UTEP / ETSU

Preseason Prediction vs. the tiers:

I basically hate preseason predictions, because if two QB's go down against WV, or some equivalent, everything is slaw, but based on what we know, which is not much, here is may very early take:

Tiers 5 & 6: Vandy and Cupcakes
Need 4 wins out of 4 games. Chances... 85%

Tier 4: Florida and KY... (Tennessee is currently in this tier)
2/2 would be solid work - 50%
1/2 - 30%
0/2 - 20%

Tier 3: WV, SC, Mizzou
0/3 30%
1/3 is my expectation 35%
2/3 is a bonus 25%
3/3 is outstanding 10%

Tier 2: Auburn & UGA
0/2 85%
1/2 13%
2/2 2%

Tier 1: Alabama
0/1 95%
1/1 5%

So based on my averages, unless @ChattaTNVol wants to math this for me, I've got us at around 6.5 wins.

Bumping this post of mine from a month ago regarding the tier level of our opponents and what I consider to be reasonable expectations of our win potential. I’d encourage a look at it before you write off the season.

Personally I wouldn’t change a thing.

The last five drafted RB’s from LSU have been from Louisiana. Guice and Jeremy Hill were from Baton Rouge, and of course, Fournette from New Orleans.

The top three on their depth chart show from being from Louisiana. Brosette is from Baton Rouge. He holds the Louisiana state TD rushing record.

We only SEC team to lose. Damn. Not really sold on what I saw from WVU until they play another team that has average or better pass rush tbh.
