So was Abernathy playing safety or was Flowers?

I want Shamburger playing

I haven’t got to rewatch yet but it appeared that Abernathy started at Safety and moved down when we were in Nickel and Dime but started getting subbed out more after the first quarter

Also I agree, and so does Justin Martin lol

I took a half day hiatus but my Twitter is littered with angry Vol fans calling for Pruitt’s head. This was so predictable after the Schianomo last fall.

The last thing that needs to change before we can get back is for the stupid, complaining fans who can’t handle a rebuild to just go away and quit following the team.

If you hate watching us lose then just quit watching.

There are going to be plenty of losses between now and November.

We will be 2-6 by then. You can take that to the bank.

Deal with it.

I have quite literally never rewatched a game we lost.

I'm trying to do a play by play game summary but keeping myself engaged is a struggle.

Play 1 – 1st &10 Kennedy completely whiffs on Bigelow and Guarantano pays the price
Play 2 – 2nd & 20 Slant to MC – no other option – broken up
Play 3 – 3rd & 20 WV rushes 7 guys filling every gap and Helton wants Chandler to run the ball – not happening
Play 4 – 4th & 24 Punt to our own 46 yard line.

Both. Flowers at least showed he can make some plays while giving up others. His problem was protecting the short route when gen should have worried about the deep route and not biting. Abernathy doesn't do anything good. Even when he gets there he misses tackle. Flowers also has only played a yr of football period. He will learn. Abernathy is hopeless

I too would like to see shamburger play not sure why he didn't besides special teams. I thought he was starter. I'd rather shamburger play nickel than Abernathy

Surprised Blakeley didn’t play at all. Not even listed on the participation report. Andrew Craig was playing in his place it seemed. Injury or quiet discipline maybe?

My sober rewatch led me to feel better. Wasn't as bad as it appeared. There were a handful of plays that changed game and guys in the wrong spot/miscommunication on assignments. A lot more fixable than I thought while watching live. It was a more mature cohesive team vs a team with brand new staff and young inexperienced players not used to playing together. Some throws by Grier were ridiculous and not even a way to defend them and doubt many QBs on our schedule can make those throws.

If we can settle on our lineups and rotations and let them mature together we should be better by end of season if healthy.

Abernathy still has to go even after sober review. Theo Jackson deserves more snaps with the way he played in limited snaps
How did the Oline look to you after the first couple possessions? I thought they played well after but that was me watching live.

I believe Auburn, UGA, and Bama are better teams but I don’t know that we face a better offense this season. Just hard to start with the best offense with a young secondary. We will improve

Agree completely.

I don't get the sky is falling stuff. This staff will methodically rebuild and reposition the team as they see them play each game. It's hard, but people need to let go of the past decade when following CJP's team. They are playing a tough schedule with one young class he recruited along with a bunch of guys from a 4-8 team that for two seasons in a row had the most injured players out of games in the nation. Don't do the bandwagon thing. That's unbecoming of a Volunteer.

They looked much better after the first 2 drives.

To me, it looked like more communication/assignment issues than lack of skills. When they were on the same page, they looked solid. JG needs to help them by maneuvering the pocket a tad better.
