After the first 2 possessions we could run it ok but we got down so much we couldn't really run. Tim Jordan looked really good and Ty Chandler was out in concussion protocol for most of the game.

I mentioned it earlier (and frankly, I may be overselling this) but I feel like that game was an awful first game for us to start two and rotate in three freshman. I have a feeling that the next two cupcake games will really help settle them in in time for the schedule to get harder.

Honestly, I typically lean pessimist/negavol but I feel like I took more positives from this game than 90% of the board...feels weird.

Until we figure out a way to generate a consistent pass rush and make QBs move a little, those freshman DBs are going to get beat from time to time.

Buchanan and Micah aren’t freshmen and they got blistered.

I’m way more concerned with the front 7. The pass rush was embarrassing and no LB stood out at any moment. Kirkland looked slow and was caught in no mans land several times in zone.

True. I was responding to the part where he was talking about working in the freshmen.

You're right. Our play on both sides at the LOS was flat awful and it exposed everybody else.

I agree..they’re going to get beat, but so is every CB who ever lived if they had our “pass rush” in front of them and I’d be okay singling the freshmen out if them being freshmen were part of the problem. Micah old AF and Buchanan isn’t a freshmen and they were on a rotisserie. Micah’s missed tackle on the first TD was shameful.

JG still a dude. Found out Tim Jordan is a dude. Let some receivers start rolling and find DWA. Let Helton get into a rhythm. There were some positives and yes that was an absolutely dreadful matchup given our current circumstances, but the defense has to show something resembling a pulse for us to get to 6-6. We need to no holds barred THROTTLE these next two teams and get some swagger going into FL. We have to win that game. 2-5 heading down the home stretch will test the will of the entire program and the recruiting abilities of these coaches.

Got to fix the middle of the OL. Almost got JG killed early. Nothing kills an offense like not being able to block DTs.

Yeah, it's a huge issue. Probably the most concerning thing honestly.

It did seem like the OL settled down a little bit as the game wore on but holy cow, they looked abysmal early.

O-line settled down and looked serviceable after a horrible start. I think the offense can be decent enough to keep us competitive. But man, that D-line has zero push. None. I felt like Pruitt didn’t want to blitz because he knew Grier would slice us up.

I honesty felt like the linebackers would look better than they did. Dudes are slow. Did Kongbo even play? I don’t remember seeing him all day.

Someone give me the truth re: yesterday’s game if you will. Had a dove hunt, caught a spoiler 1/2 way through and didnt want to put myself through watching it on the DVR.

Is there any hope?
