'18 GA LB JJ Peterson (Tennessee signee)

Imagine if every grown person you knew when you were 17/18 judged you for the rest of your life based off things you did at that age.

Sad life to lead if you're taking to logging on online to bash a kid when you don't know his circumstances personally.

Is questioning his lack of regard when it comes to his studies really bashing the kid? Hell, maybe he needs a good kick in the ass. Two kids that he needs to provide a future for and he's not ready to play school yet? It's not about tearing the kid down, it's simply saying he needs to get his priorities straight. This isn't "Wah! He didn't choose UT! I hope he fails!" I know for some, it's selfishness because they want him here to ball out, but put that aside, the kid really does need to get his **** together for himself and his family. He's being handed a gift, an education and a possible NFL future. I don't care how old he is, it's not something he should squander.

Ok, haven't been around very long and can't really tell what's happening with JJP on this thread.

Fill me in, what position is our best recruit from '18 starting at tomorrow?

I'll hang up and listen, thanks!

Well I’m still on this train with pruitt. But I saw him shifting in his seat. Not sure if he’s about to bolt for the door... but I still believe!!

Trashing a kid over the 10-20 seconds it takes to post a snapchat story is so dumb. Those same people will sing his praises if he actually ever makes it in and makes a play.

He’s earned his offer on the field and is now trying to earn it from the academic side. Whether or not he makes it in to UT now or later, goes JUCO and ends up somewhere else, or never plays football again, there is no excuse for the way some posters are talking down about a teenager.

More like 3-4 years of not completing basic tasks required of any teenager. Free education is a benefit many take for granted.

You do know there are letters, that spell words, next to the avi. Right?
Yes Jackass. The simple comment being it was no longer the giant purple L that was a joke between him and a couple other posters with names beginning in L a few weeks ago when the site changed.

It starts at home, well younger than 3-4 years of high school. Some of us had the benefit of parents and mentors that directed us down a better path. He has to live with his decisions, and that will be far tougher than anything imposed on fans. I can see the obvious answers for him, but I refuse to judge him for not making them. Life is a far tougher judge than any of us.

20180408_145317.jpgI'm glad I'm not a highly sought after recruit with apparently a rough childhood so that everyone could make assumptions about me on message boards.

Some of the things I read on here make me cringe.

Some of you are worse than women, judging and gossiping, and get all emotional when things don't work out.

It's called life, it sucks and it's wonderful, it breaks your heart and brings you so much joy, all at the same time.

I hope it all works out for JJ, and if he doesn't get in now then he enrolls in January. He won't make or break our season. If you have been a Volunteer fan for the last 10 years then this is just a blip on the radar as far as unfortunate things go. It won't make make me enjoy one second less of every game.

Hope the best for you JJ and hope you make it here, and if not I hope you get a shot somewhere for those kids sake.

PS - he isn't anywhere in this barn I'm taking down, checked in every stall.

Most teenagers don’t have two children to provide for. In fact, I would venture to say most kids in his situation don’t even graduate high school.

You’re right most don’t have two kids that young but that’s a situation he brought on himself. Obviously the adults in his life failed him but many others in similar positions have overcome that. Hopefully he will too.

Oh my God! Who in the world forced 2 children on this young man still in HS???

It’s unconscionable!

Agreed. Regardless of what path he ends up following I hope it’s one that provides for him and his children.
