Really don't know how KNS stays in business. They are pathetic at just about everything.

I would guess that Ganett is in trouble. Several popular columnists left The Commercial Appeal a few months ago and will be writing for a digital only, The Daily Memphian. It’s focus will be entirely local, and it is a non profit that is being funded by local philanthropists. I believe things like this will force Ganett and USA Today to either make changes or go away.

I live in Charlotte. Typically the scattered showers come in the late afternoon into the evening (if they are expected). At least that is how this summer has gone. If rain does happen then I think that really helps us out since we will be a more run-heavy offense compared to their pass-heavy offense.

Also, I wouldn't look at the weather report until the day before. That should give you a small glimpse of what it could be like on gameday.

Do you even watch the Falcons especially two years ago? Teams still need quarterbacks with arms who can throw that 10 yard out across the field and Hurts doesnt do that. He can’t pass downfield period including outs. But you keep doing you. Brady just throws under ten yards. Eagles never pass it long either. You may not take shots downfield every possession but you have to be able to be a threat to do it or what you described won’t ever work.

Those “nfl throws” are such a myth now dude.

In 2017 67% of all throws by NFL QBs were targeted either behind the line of scrimmage or up to 10 yards past it. A further 22% were targeted 11-20 yards past the line of scrimmage. Put another way only 11% of throws were targeted over 20 yards past the line of scrimmage
.

Another stat from the 2017 NFL season:

NFL leaders in throws 5 yards or less in air? Brees,Brady, and Rodgers -- by a wide margin. NFL leaders on passes up to 5 yards: Brees & Brady. Future HOFer throws short passes. They work.

Alex smith , Kirk cousins, and Luke Mccown were the some of the top deep ball passers last year and no one considers them having great arms by no stretch. Guys like eli and Flacco who were considered great nfl “throwers” have regressed so much the more the nfl has went to an intermediate passing game.

I saw a graph last year that said like 80% of throws in the nfl are below 8 yards now. The completion % is just so low on balls over 20+ that teams aren’t busying them as much.

Matt Ryan’s stats on balls 20+ air yards last year.

2017: 19comp on att66 (28.8%), 600 Yards, 4 TD, 2 INT, 72.5 QBRat

So in 342 completions only 19 of them actually were completed past 20 yards.

I didn’t go back and fact check all those sources so flame away if they are off but QB is becoming easier and easier to play in today’s football. That’s why there hasn’t been as many just flat out busts recently in the draft too.

Jared Goff was god awful for Jeff fisher but a creative offensive mind shows up and he’s the next great thing.

Call it Kool aid or orange tinted glasses or whatever, but I don’t care what is predicted. Anything less than a win and I’ll be upset. I won’t be down on the staff or the team or throw the towel in on the season (ultimately I’d rather win SEC games if I had to choose), but I will be disappointed. This team is full of forgotten talent with an A+ staff. My expectations are that we finish no less than 3rd if not 2nd to UGA in the east this year. I’m expecting a win on Saturday and won’t be satisfied with anything less!

I'm gonna mark you down for the WGWTFA club!

Just watched the WV Iowa State game. It was pretty lopsided until Iowa State switched to a 4 man front. They almost completely took away the run, and made WV throw on first down. Also, WV seemed to have trouble with depth because Iowa State’s inside run game wore them down. It certainly made me more optimistic.

Too bad SEC Nation will be broadcasting from Charlotte. The SEC Network has been overwhelmingly bearish on UT and it just gives them a gameday platform to sell us short. To set the tone, Finebaum will probably interview Depth Chart Dana on Friday and he can whine some more about the unfairness OR unjustness OR inequity of it all.
