Not gonna argue much because I'm pulling for him but the Oline thing is overplayed to a degree.
Yes the injuries piled on throughout the season. No, the Oline wasn't completely healthy up until QD got hurt then all fell apart at the exact same moment JG walked in.
At the moment JG took over, it was the same line that QD was just removed from.

We can nitpick til we're blue in the face about JG's pocket presents*. You're right that QD didn't get sacked nearly as much, despite the OL still giving up an unacceptable number of TFL's. I still stand by my point that it wasn't gonna get any better as that starting OL eroded away by the time we got to Kentucky.

My big thing is that I don't want to hear groans from anyone when he trots out there Saturday with the 1's. Especially from 1) posters who hold some weird grudge against JG for whatever reasons from last year, and 2) posters who think the coaches want KC because they brought him in specifically.

So, I watched a clip of JG from the sidelines against GT.

I was at the game, so this is my first time seeing it. It's unbelievable how blown out of proportion that was. Good lord.

He does seem to pout after the calloway td... but I find it hilarious that someone actually took the time to create a JG body language montage.

I'm sure there will be, it's inevitable.

I'm concerned, definitely not a hater. He has so much talent but I wonder if he tunnel visions? I screamed at the TV when he would get hit from the side. Not from behind but from the actual side. Maybe a low sense of peripheral vision?

Or maybe Dobbs just spoiled me. I don't think I ever saw anyone better than him at just feeling someone coming up from behind him. So many times I just knew he was sacked and suddenly, he just took off.

Either way, I'm hoping JG was doing the tunnel vision thing because that's a habit that can be broken. If it should be peripheral, then that's an issue. Also not his fault but still an issue.
Whatever it is/was, I hope he absolutely dominates this year.

There is no telling what Butch Jones told him before the start of that game. He apparently lied to multiple players during his time at UT, so it would not surprise me if he told JG that he was going to play at some point.

He said that to the fans, media, and everybody.

That said, there was *some chemistry showing between QD and Callaway, so I can understand Butch riding QD out through that first game. He should have left it at "We'll see about 2 QB's versus Tech", not "Both will play".

But QD definitely should have been shown the pine in Gainesville, throwing 3 INTs.

Want to stop the media prognosticators from being down on this team?

Beat WVU, steal away an SEC game we're not supposed to win, give Bama the hardest fought win of their season, and play with an attitude from start to finish.

I've stopped giving AF about the media and their opinions. All I care about is how they look on the field.
This. And stealing a win against a good SEC team is very doable, it’s football.

If Butch was able to steal a win against a top 10 South Carolina team in his first year, I’m sure Pruitt will be able to land a happy surprise or two.
