You are most definitely changing the question. If an elite athlete with two years to plays wants to play for your school, and the athlete and the coaches see a role for him, do you take him?

You are answering with more hypotheticals, best I can tell, because you have already made up your mind. Sounds an awful lot like what you were accusing Hank of regarding JG.

I honestly look at our Depth chart as having 3 safeties. Ab, Warrior, Flowers will be on the field a lot at the same time.

Yeah, sounds like they're looking to be more fluid in the secondary. Think we'll see some of that on the OL, too.

Guess Jackson's inconsistency has dropped him down.

The Oline being so unsettled wasn't expected. I like Trey at left tackle though. I expect Ryan J. and Locklear at G to start.

That wasn't the question though originally. That's what it changed to. Originally his hypothetical stated:

Scenario:

JG leaves or doesn’t play well. Do you want to trot out trust shrout/McBride, a freshman, or Jalen Hurts?

I joked about his love for game managers. He pressed for an answer. I said Shrout. He said he wasn't "banging the drum for Hurts". And I said why don't we see what happens this year before trying to find a replacement after JG's hypothetical bad year. After that there were a lot of different hypotheticals that started flying around on both sides. So I answered the original question under the original parameters, and some people didn't like that so new hypotheticals happened and somewhere this fantasy that he would have 2 years to play and would accept being a back up or playing a different position became the new question. If he has 2 years left and wants to come play RB here, then sure. That would start to be worth the spot IMO. But as far as me changing the question, that's not true. I answered the original question with my opinion. That lead to other questions.

I tend to only notice these arguments when they've been going on for multiple pages. I blame LBJ.

It's a reasonable question though. QB or not, if he has 2 to play and the coaches want him, do you take him?

I just answered that in what you quoted. I still think the whole debate is premature as I said in the beginning.

I have never understood the coaching infatuation with Abernathy. Must be attitude because he clearly has not proven anything on the field other than being a step slow, recognizing his responsibilities late, and never showing up angry on a tackle. I hope that changes for the better, but just how much could it? Looking forward to seeing Flowers - and soon. Agree on TKJr. is a good player when physically healthy.

yeah, i've always thought TK could put a little weight on and be a better linebacker than a safety. i think they view him as a liablity in coverage due to lack of speed. he's pretty physical though, and decent ball skills. i just think it's a matter of "fit" with how this staff views what a safety should bring to the table, athletically.

that said, i'm sure he'll get reps with the way this staff plans on rotating guys...who knows.
