I kind of get that, but I put almost zero importance on spring game results for a lot of reasons that we have already beat to death on here. I will say that the only time that I put much stock into it, is when a QB sucks in a spring game. It is set up so that it is almost impossible for them to look too bad. I know the kid was a good prospect, but JG was a better one, so was KC for that matter. It is your opinion, I respect that, maybe you saw something that impressed you more, that I didn't. I was impressed with the kid myself, I'm not meaning to dog him. I think he will do well. I just don't think he has any more potential than JG, and less experience.

In your opinion, right?...because like the rest of us, you have absolutely no idea if the staff does or doesn't have "concern" about Shrout. They could possibly have a big "concern", or none at all. Just because you think it, doesn't make it reality, right?

If you want JT Shrout over Jalen Hurts you might need your head examined. If we have Jalen Hurts next year, with our running game and a Pruitt defense, we're contending for the division title.

Never meant to imply it was a concern with the staff. If you inferred that, that’s on you.

For fans and many media following the team, how Shrout (and JG, but to a lesser extent) can come along in the mental aspect of the game and with consistency has been a storyline for a while now. That’s a reality. No reason to get in a tizzy about it and start reading too much into my comments.

I'm pretty sure McBride will transfer. I'm perfectly okay with a qb room of jg, shrout and Maurer or whoever we sign this year. I'm generally not a fan of grad transfers. Kennedy was an exception but I don't think its worth it usually. And I don't really think we are in bad shape if those 3 are the only ones we have. Hurts is a pretty good qb in the right system but I don't think we need him. I do think if he wants to make it to the nfl, he should switch to rb though.

We’re all talking about our opinions here, dude. I’m sorry for assuming that you couldn’t understand that unless I put IMO after every sentence I write.

FWIW, I use a lot of qualifiers when I write here to make it pretty clear I’m giving my opinions. It seems like you just dislike those opinions and are trying to make them more insidious than they are so you can discount them.

Agreed about him the NFL. I don’t see him as an NFL QB.

I do think in Hank’s hypothetical we’d have no real reason not to take a run at him unless a big time HS QB decided to flip to us late.


But it’s also way too early to start making assumptions about which of our 3 underclassmen QBs may or may not be here next year

You’d rather go into the year with 3 QBs than add a former SEC offensive player of the year as a 4th who, to this point, has outplayed all the QBs on our current roster?

I must be crazy for thinking it’s a no brainer you add him in this hypothetical

There’s literally no logical reason to tell him no. Even if he is “a RB” then great you just signed an elite athlete basically for free.

I don't care what stupid award he won. He was a crap QB surrounded by all world talent 3 deep..

He is a terrible fit for this offense.

That is the storyline of most QB prospects, mentality and consistency; Shrout is nowhere near alone in this aspect.
No tizzy at all...just thought I'd remind you that your opinion doesn't make reality, as well, that's all.
