I don't think the staff is messing with anyone. I think it's timing. Some of the players are managing reps and probably need the individual drills way less than team drills. Media tends to only see individual drills so they don't see those guys practicing.I keep reading mixed reports on Kirkland, I honestly think the staff is messing around with the media in these open sessions. Seems odd that they would waste energy on it- but if anyone needs a competitive advantage early this year, it’s us.
Yes. I actually think Pruitt seems pretty happy with the progress of the secondary. But to answer yer question there is a ton of cross training. Shamburger is projected to start as the Star. But I think the guys Pruitt wants to have available at Star will get a lot of cross training at CB and Safety. Because there are elements of both in the Star. In other words I believe that this will be normal regardless of depth. Pruitt has said many times he wants guys to be able to play anywhere in the secondary.

I think they meant he will be a LB when in that formation. Not as the star position.I thought I read where Sapp may line up in Star as well, you hear the same thing? I would think you would want Bituli and Sapp on the field at the same time if at all possible. Sapp is gonna head hunt this season... bookit.
agreed, but size wise, i think that position does lean to more what a safety "looks" like vs. a true corner.I think the Star probably floats back and forth between the two position groups as there are elements of both cb and safety involved in the position.
I always check out the practice thread in FF. I actually sneak in and fast as I can over there and then get shots before coming back to RF so I don't bring any communicable disease's over here. Anyway, just had a question come to mind and I knew I could depend on my RF bros for some insight. I was reading where Brandon Davis and Shawn Shamburger are working with Safeties. With the lack of depth at CB and thought Shawn played CB last year, why we don't have more of these guys working at CB. I thought Safety was a position that we did have depth in. I know there are different measurable's and some are more suited for Safety than CB's but again considering the lack of depth at that position. Has the depth gotten better and I just haven't seem noticed it? Thank you and I'll hang up and listen.
Yep. SP is small. Heck, I up and decided to go out for FB my senior yr... there was no cut, if you made it through 2 a days u were on the team. We won state that year, but what's remembered most was losing to MC on an Eric Westmoreland pick6.Now that’s a high school football rivalry. From what I’m told, that is THE rivalry in the state of TN, and SP is a tiny 1A school that has pretty much dominated 1A football in TN.
Had conversations over the years with EM and EW. Both great players from MCHS and SPHS, and VFLs.
It’s hard to explain to folks down here in south Florida what small town football is really like, especially back then. I very clearly remember as a kid town shutting down on Friday after 5, and butcher paper banners covering every wall in the town square. From my house about 1/2-3/4 of a mile away you could hear the train horn every time the warriors scored, and when Eric Westmorland was there- it was a lot. Good days back then, the only “fast food” joint was the dairy bar, and one stoplight was good enough.
an open records request is a right by the public within State law from a state body, which Ohio state is. property of the Ohio state university was tampered with in an effort to suppress information that is guaranteed to the public upon request. this convo apparently happened a week after the request. they violated the law.Is it a crime if there’s no criminal charges/investigation?
