I’m pretty sure Ainge was pumping up QD this time last year too

Let's be honest, QD probably did look good in practice, but everyone associated with that Larry Scott offense deserves a pass. It's not the QB's fault when everyone can tell the play call based on the formation.

he was 100% accurate in the spring game....lol.

I agree. We have/had good QBs on this roster imo. Poor play was a result of scheme, play calling, horrible coaching all around, but especially on the OL. I think we will be pleasantly surprised this season.

Hot take--- no more TE coach calling the O, a line that can do a much better job at blocking and giving JG more than 1 Mississippi before he is running for his life==== JG looking like a totally different QB... but we will see.
i think that's what a lot of people struggle with is, wrapping their head around what all these changes in offensive blocking scheme, offensive scheme in general and just better teaching at WR, TE, OL, QB etc...and how that affects not on the QB, but the passing game in general.

it's a lot of moving parts, and i would expect them to go thru some growing pains, but all in all, i think they will get better as a result of the changes.

And honestly, you didn't even have to know the play to defend that offense effectively. Same "Newt point" (mesh point for those not aware of the joke) at the handoff/fake handoff on almost every play. The South Carolina game - last drive - hinted at the fact we could move the ball if we didn't run our "normal" offense.

Ainge is a qb, so I would consider him an expert in this area. I don’t believe Ainge would just glorify a qb that doesn’t have it. He’s not a fan of Chryst, and he’s made it clear

Bro. Do you remember what he said about Butch this time last year? He's in the business of glorifying. You won't get anything from Ainge that's not from the perspective of sugnlasses tinted with orange.

As an avid Steeler fan, I have read multiple posts and articles that state that if Josh Dobbs can really play well in preseason games 3 & 4, he might make the roster- Landry Jones would be the cut victim. Main issue is Big Ben's love for Landry- especially knowing Landry could never take his job. Best of Luck Josh

I think you have a point, but let's have a little context here. Would it be good for Ainge's business to trash the football team and demonize the coach before the season starts? It doesn't make sense for him to disparage the team he exclusively covers while his job relies on access to information on said team.

I think Ainge's input is likely more reliable when discussing players, formations, play-calling, technique, etc. versus discussing the coach or overall program.

Should have been indicted for attempted manslaughter. Hat's off to JG for surviving.

So you're saying JG will lead us to the SECCG and then on the last drive throw a pick 6 and lose us the game?
If this happened this year, who all would be ok with it? It would probably mean we had an outstanding year and are way ahead as a program than anyone expected.

Be interesting to see how locklear does because Carvin and Calbert have more beef and on his heels. Could really smash folks with one of those two next to smith and Kennedy.

My dream line going into camp was Smith, Calbert, Kennedy, Carvin and Richmond. I’m excited to see suggestions that we may be headed that way. I think that line would look great on the field and would be pretty close to what Pruitt wants to build size wise. It sounds like they may have the right level of ability too. We will see.
