me too. he's been the wild card for me since the spring. i was glad he was suited up for the spring game back then. fired up he's going full contact in camp. don't want to jump the gun here, but he looks like he's going to be available to contirbute this year, and that's fantastic news.If Hall can play that makes me really like our OL
Well I said “J Johnson” and my post was about our OTswhich johnson? ryan or Jamir? lol. you're gonna have to be more specific....i'm assuming Ryan, and i agree.
and yeah, i remember reading about the move with drew to RT. i think i decied to beleive pruitt when he discussed the O line moves last week, as far as just getting them some reps at different spots so they could increase depth via versatility.
if Drew comes out lined up at RT to start, i'd be a little surprised....
gotcha. and agree about Jamir being light, i was on the same page as far as his prospects of actually contributing this season.Well I said “J Johnson” and my post was about our OTs
There was a little buzz on the VQ podcast about Jamir maybe being able to handle the LT spot at some point this season (though not week 1 probably). Would be big if he can come along and be a factor at OT. Honestly I’d kinda ruled him out since he was so light.

Seems like some of guys we got in on late like George, Tillman, Harris, and Garland are showing some promise too. What’s crazy is there is a Chance we hit on virtually all of our juco/grad transfers. That would be unprecedented honestly.
DWA, London, Jamir Johnson, gooden, Chryst etc all could be productive players his year.
The tweet mentioned the number of 4/5 star recruits. Let's break it down this way: In the top 300, Mullen has committed #42, 205, 221, 252, and 298. Pruitt has committed #7, 117, 167, 194, 203, 224, and 247. So, 7 of our 8 are in the top 250. 3 of their 9 are in the top 250. Mississippi State has more commits in the top 300 than Florida does.
With just two more days of training camp, Tennessee returned to the practice field Monday and clearly the biggest news of the day was the return of sophomore offensive lineman Trey Smith.
Big No. 73 appeared to be full-contact in the two individual periods open to the media, working exclusively at left tackle.
Here are the rest of Tuesday’s observations…
*** The offensive line shuffling continues…
After being brought along slowly the last two weeks, Smith was back with the main group that also included Riley Locklear, Brandon Kennedy, Ryan Johnson and Drew Richmond. On the very first rep I saw, Smith shoved 6-foot-5, 322-pound freshman Jarious Abercrombie onto the turf. Safe to say, Smith was ready to hit somebody.
Now, during team periods they could switch things up and Richmond could go back to left tackle and Smith slides inside, but that didn’t happen during individual periods today. Notably, Jahmir Johnson saw reps at both left tackle and left guard. He did several combo reps with Smith at LT and Johnson at LG. K’Rojhn Calbert was also at left guard, with Jerome Carvin at right guard. Chance Hall was also taking reps today. Per usual, the entire period was NSFW, with Will Friend getting all over his unit.
*** Working in the pit: Cornerback Kenneth George, linebacker Darrin Kirkland Jr. and offensive linemen Eric Crosby, Marcus Tatum and Devante Brooks. Tatum was able to do some individual work. Also when we were leaving the field, Kirkland was jogging off to join a team period.
*** The QB/WRs routes on air period was about the same as usual Tuesday. Some nice throws mixed in with some drops and airmails. Both Jauan Jennings (who wasn’t wearing a single wrap or brace on his knee today) and Marquez Callaway looked good, though. Drops I saw included Josh Palmer, Brandon Johnson and Maleik Gray.
*** The defensive line was split into two groups Tuesday: One working with Tracy Rocker and the other working with the GA. Rocker’s group included Phillips, Tuttle, Johnson, Gooden and Harris, the lone freshman in the group.
*** Phillip Fulmer was at practice with noted Tennessee donor John ‘Thunder’ Thornton.
Was he a starter?
The cornerback position: This might end up being the most intriguing position to watch. It may also be the most important position to watch. That’s because WVU sits in the most pass-happy conference out there, the Big 12. And even when the Mountaineers aren’t playing league opponents, they’ll be facing quarterbacks like N.C. State’s Ryan Finley, a preseason All-ACC pick who completed 65.1 percent of his passes for 3,518 yards last season.
Recent reports say potential UCLA transfer Denzel Fisher won’t make the grade, leaving junior Hakeem Bailey as the only corner with much experience (11 games last season, three as a sophomore). Last season’s starters, Mike Daniels and Elijah Battle, are gone. That means Dunbar native Derrek Pitts and sophomore Jake Long will have to step up in a big way unless Gibson makes more moves, like switching Kenny Robinson back to the position.
Ok I have a serious question for y'all. I have an old pre-digital tv that I'd like to get an antenna for to watch the game with. How do I make this work? Do I need some kind of converter since the tv is pre-digital revolution? I live about 30 minutes outside of Knoxville if that matters.
