We said the exact same thing about him last year. With that said I know Larry. He knows nothing more than we do in this case. Just his opinion like last year which he turned out to be correct on
I didn’t see anything other than the TD, but you have to remember that he is running at times with the 2nd and 3rd string line. So the coaches will know where the issue is.
I was just thinking about him the other day. Care to give cliffnotes? I really don't want to venture over to the FF. FYI, he has been full Debbie Downer for about 5 years or so.

Larry’s predictions for this year are in bounds though. Judging from practice reports this sounds like a 5 to 7 win team. Not much difference in that range of wins - just a few plays like last year.
I differ long term though. With middle Tennessee producing more talent the future is bright for Tennessee football. We will always be a factor. If Clemson can be elite so can we. They have the same limitations we do (with the exception that they play in an easier conference).
I think the coaches pretty much know who's playing where and who's starting against WVU. They're just not announcing it, and the media sees very little. They're not getting much on the record.
Cliff notes for LWSVol
2005-2016 (when Fulmer started struggling) Historically, we are a 7 win a year program at best. I don’t expect anything more than that, and neither should anyone else. We won’t be competing for any more championships in my lifetime.
2016 (when he was hearing Blackburn for AD) UT has had leadership problem from the president down. We’ll see if they are willing to change things and hire a guy like Blackburn that could get it done.
2017-present (Since the Haslams caught half the BOT out of town and put Currie in as AD instead of Fulmer or Blackburn) UT has a leadership problem from the president/boosters down. I and about 2,000 other donors are never going to donate money or even set foot Knoxville again. Vols football will never be relevant again in my lifetime. 4 wins per year from here on out, 5 with some lucky bounces.
*the depressing thing is that he’s not really been wrong so far.
Another poster said he was going to be the #2guy and Gurley didn't play last night. I'd assume he got plenty of reps with the 1s if that is true. Either way it isn't uncommon to see YPC numbers like that at times from backs that get that many carries(18)
5-7, minutes is not a lot at all. Reporters even mentioned before that a player who they saw all viewing period working on the sideline began running over to position drills as they were walking away from the open viewing portion of practice. Solidified my theory that this staff is not letting anything of importance out and I like that.
It’s smart too because the inevitable second string guy doesn’t “check out” with two weeks to go because he knows he isn’t the starter. Makes your whole team prepare like they’re going to be on the field a lot.I think the coaches pretty much know who's playing where and who's starting against WVU. They're just not announcing it, and the media sees very little. They're not getting much on the record.
Like in my game thread where some guy said I had bought the media narrative of the Vols not being good. I paused and tried to recall the last time they undersold the Vols, and I couldn’t remember. They thought we’d get to ATL a couple of Butch years, but generally they’ve got it about right... and certainly haven’t undersoldLWS has great sources and for some reason this board is totally disregarding everything he says just as it did last year when he said Butch was in over his head and that we’d have our worst team of all time.
I don’t necessarily agree with his pessimism this year but watching this cycle repeat itself is comical.
