I can completely understand wanting your son to be closer to home, absolutely; it would actually be abnormal for parents to not want it.
But, how can a parent or parents completely feel comfortable and satisfied knowing they stood in the way of what their son TRULY wanted...to deny him the future that he chose, just because you wanted something different? Yes, I would be happy about him being closer, but id feel like sh*t, as well.

It’s a parasitical love when you ask your child to stay close to home rather than letting them make their own choice which may be better in the long run. We certainly benefit from that at times but sill don’t think that should be the deciding factor.

I love my child as much as anyone. I will support their decision on ANY school they choose in ANY state or country.
We have prepared them to fly ... it is time.
