Has JJ Peterson been at any practices?

Concerning next years class....if we get bowl eligible this year and are at least competitive in our losses, Pruitt takes in a top 5 class next year. JMO.

I really believe recruits want to come here, they just need to see we are heading in the right direction.

I also think JJ will be here, this year or next.

It is pretty easy to tell if a kid is messing up academically. Maybe they need to give a second grade like 4F for a good athlete that has failed most of his high school courses and likely wont qualify academically.
It's funny that now that he hasn't qualified you guys are bashing the coaching staff. When before you guys were like JJ is a must get Pruitt can't miss on him. If Pruitt misses on JJ he can't recruit blah blah blah.

Now Pruitt gets the kid and the kid is doing everything he can to try and qualify and everyone is bashing him lol. It's comedic.

Pruitt may have gotten him because the kid already knew he couldn't get in elsewhere.....just a maybe. The other question is how do you know he is doing all he can? IMO JJ should have taken care of academic business in HS. I am concerned that if he does get in, will he be one of those kids that we have to "get" through school to keep him eligible?

Why are you cocerned about that? That's what UT tutors are for. Also, if that's how we got him and obviously the kid is still working to get in then so be it.

Would you rather he go JUCO and go to a different school possibly? Even if he doesn't get to play this year but still qualifies at least we still have him.

Our LB depth is good so it's not like it matters if he can play right away or not. Also, the kid like @VolBraniac stated a while ago has been doing our lifting program. So he will not come in out of shape. I just think if the staff gave him the lifting routine and keep saying they think he will make it. Then he is going to make it. Also, it was stated today that we should hear something Friday.

So. Those are my thoughts and opinions.

Too many issues during the Fulmer tenure came from tutors "helping" students keep their grades.

copy N paste

Peterson’s high school head coach Rush Propst of Colquitt County in Moultrie, Ga., told Vols Wire that the Tennessee commit is still working on getting to UT before classes begin.
“He will be there hopefully by the time school starts at Tennessee,” Propst said of Peterson. “He is working every day to get there.”

I don't think the UT staff would have to deal with that. By all accounts the kid is intelligent he has just not taken school seriously due to his situation in HS.

Hopefully he realizes he has a big opportunity on his hands and does the work he needs to do. The staff will ensure he is doing his work once he gets here. I don't think that will be an issue at all.
