Your chubby for Tiger Woods is disturbingAnd you just proved my point. Spieth and Koepka won’t be denied when they have their best stuff? Tiger didn’t have his best stuff yday, but still shot the lowest score in the final round. That’s an it factor that is unmatched...his it factor is being about grind out the best possible score when things are firing on all cylinders. That’s what separated him from everyone for over a decade. When he didn’t have everything working, he won because he outwilled everyone. Case in point...winning the 2008 US Open with a fractured tibia and no ACL. When everything was working, he blew fields away.
Don't know how to bring it over here. Do yourself a favor and go to FF. Practice #8 I posted a lil bit ago. The vid of Trey Smith knocking someone on their but with the medicine ball. At the end of vid he is working on the left. Then you see some other big body flying to the dirt. And he is not even cleared for contact. Dayum boyz he looks ready to dominate.
i was thinking the same thing. they've spent a lot of time talking about being mentally tough, and i could see this as part of that. Some podcast tidbits I thought were interesting...
Was cleaning my garage while listening, and it wasn't very long. Not a whole lot there.
- Speculated at the end that Pruitt and staff might play (or be playing) mind games with JG to see how mentally tough he is. Talked about how last week there was all this talk about him being "the guy" and pulling away, then the next day KC was taking snaps with the ones. They suggested it's a possibility that CJP might say/do some things to test JG's mental fortitude.
- Like RS said, Rob Lewis really likes the backs. I found that interesting because by all accounts they're the group the media sees the least of. Rob said Chandler will be a big time SEC back. Jordan has to be good because he's taking snaps from Chandler. London looks competent and looks like a grown man. Princeton Fant is the "best looking" of the group, just from a size standpoint. Bigger than everyone else and it'll be interesting to see what he does.
- Expects since we're opening against a ranked opponent that the 1-2's will start getting solidified with reps together. Everyone outside of that will be scout team.
what'd he finish at The Open, 6th? so he has two top 6 finishes in the majors this year. i'd say that's competitive. Not really. It's just odd when someone calls Tiger a "has been."
It's strange when people say he will never compete at a championship level again, he actually competes at a championship level, and then they still question it.

lol. we were having that discussion last night at my parents' house. we're all basically rooting for him, and then someone said, how can you like him? and me and my brother were like "oh, we don't like him, he's still an a hole, for sure".....but both wanted to see if he could pull out a W.I think Tiger is a phenomenal golfer and a garbage human being so meh.

i'll be the first to admit that he's a giant story in golf, heck, in sports in general. he's a multi generational player. and as long as he plays competitively like he has this year, it'll be a story, and deservedly so.I don’t, but golf is so much more electric when he’s in contention. He does things that few can do. He also elevates everyone else’s games. Case in point was yesterday. To see Koepka and Adam keep hitting shot after shot to answer was a ton of fun. Why do some of you try to prove that he’s a has been? It’s clear he’s not.
Once again let me explain..I was really hoping that JGs performance last year was a result of..That's exactly what happened with JG last year. I don't get you. Too much of your results are based off things happening in your head.
it is scrimmage 1, that was closed, and every bit of info being discussed here is based off what was either said in the press conference by the head coach that isn't going to really give you a lot of detail, or 2nd hand info reported by folks that cover the program on what they were told by someone. and that info may be good/accurate or whatever, but it's still 2nd hand opinions based on someone else's perception. and as for hank, i guess it seems he's a trustworthy source, but even he's said multiple times in this thread that he's speculating as well.Once again let me explain..I was really hoping that JGs performance last year was a result of..
A. Bad to non-existent Coaching
B. Horrible play calling
C. The worst OL play I have ever seen at Tennessee.
Since we all agree that all of that happened, and everybody acknowleges that JG has a ton untapped potential...My hope was and still is that the new coaches we have, who we believe are supposed to be really good, could actually pull that potential out of him, making last years performace irrelevant...looks like I was wrong, since it looks to me like they are going with the quick check down king.
I do not believe KC has any untapped potential. At this point he is what he is.
I don't have any hope for above average QB play this year now, if JG has not separated himself from KC by now, he probably isn't going to. I hope it is better than I think.
Don't really know that yet. Yesterday was the first time most of those younger guys have been on the course during some real Sunday at a major Tiger crowd moments and a few seemed to be affected by it. Not BK but some of the others definitely took notice. Some even admitted it affected them. I do think some of these young guys can get over that, but you can't say they're not intimidated when yesterday was the first time they've experienced it and only one of them was able to hold steady. You said he was "unmatched by anyone". That is not true today. Is he competitive again? Yes. Will he win any more majors? Maybe, but the young guns are not intimidated by him like the golfers were back in the day.
Tiger is your hero and I get that. Mickey Mantle was my idol when I was your age.
Right. The reason there's so many better young golfers is because of Tiger. No golfers worried about working out before Tiger. Now most of them look like real athletes.i'll be the first to admit that he's a giant story in golf, heck, in sports in general. he's a multi generational player. and as long as he plays competitively like he has this year, it'll be a story, and deservedly so.
that said, if you didn't watch BK yesterday and not think that looked like what Tiger USED to do, then i don't know what you saw...Koepka is every bit, if not moreso, the 'freak' tiger was when he was bombing past the players he used to compete against.
i'd say today, golf, competitively, is MUCH better today than it was 20 years ago. Tiger changed the game, and the guys playing it now are the result. they're all really, really good.
i did laugh when Koepka was being interviewed and they asked him about the Tiger affect and he said "yeah, when Tiger made is little run there..." they're definitely not intimidated by him. not at all.Don't really know that yet.
