Josh Dobbs (merged)

Big Ben nor Le'Veon will be major factors for the Steelers this season.

Josh Dobbs and James Conner will lead them to the Super Bowl.

Nah Dobbs never could manage to clinch the sec east or he’ll never even played in a truly big game that compares to the playoffs

I’m gonna laugh when your wrong and I’m right as Dobbs sits on the Bench while Watson and Mahomes ball out

A more interesting question is what will you do if I'm right?

I mean according to ya'll Dobbs is some bum who can't throw and is about to be cut from the Steelers. What will you guys do if he's turns out to be exactly what I have predicted? A NFL superstar who leads the Steelers to the Super Bowl this season?

I'm guessing you guys will act just like ya'll did with Alvin. You'll pretend everyone saw it all along and I wasn't saying anything that ya'll weren't saying either. You guys are good at revisionist history.

For your sake you better Dobbs don’t start against the Jags in a playoff game lolz that would be as horrible as Nathan Peterman game where he threw like 5 picks lol only there would also be many strip sacks that’s a specialty in Jax esp Yannick

Ramsey and Bouye are the best CB duo in the league and it ain’t even really close

Plus defensive player of the year Calais Campbell bouncing from DT to DE facing that 6’8” monster along with the young beast pass rusher Yannick Ngoako yeesh not fun for a rookie

The other vet Malik Jackson FYI all 5 of these guys made the pro bowl then there’s also Marcel Dareus, Dante Fowler, and first round pick DT Taven Bryan

Oh ya and there’s 2 young bulls in the middle Telvin Smith is the truth has been bout 2 and half years now made his first all pro team last year
Then there’s Myles Jack who would have been a top 5-10 pick for sure he was a so sick At UCLA but after that injury he missed all of 2016 so last year was his rookie year and WOW kids a stud the jags are one the best LB duos too

Also love the third rounder Ronnie Harrison outta Bama to upgrade Safety

It’s disgusting how loaded the Jags D is and hell people just see Ramsey, Campbell and maybe one more but Yannick Ngoako and AJ Bouye are serious mfers too just look up stats Yannick sacks speak for themselves and he strip strips the ball constantly and Bouye hasn’t given up a single TD in last 2 reg season *AB got him in playoffs twice butthat’s the best WR in the world

Telvin Smith is probably a top 5 LB dudes small but he’s an animal and from his rookie yr highlights Myles Jack is gonna form another best duo in the league or one of them at least

Plus they added Taven Bryan who is strong as hell and has one hell of a first step to come off the bench DAMN Also have Dante Fowler coming off bench lol he still managed 8 sacks last year

Also got a great WR option for Bortles in DJ Chark gives Jax that speed threat pretty sure he ran a 4.37 or something and at 6’3” that’s all the tools necessary to a damn good WR

Don’t matter tho Bortles and Fournette own the Steelers lol they turned that **** into a fun lil rivalry imo and the way the jags played overcoming

Being so fricking young or first year w/ new team
They were 3-13 in 2016
Also had a 10 year playoff drought
And Blake Bortles at QB

They still were so damn close to beating the pats brady just did what he do refs didnt help either bs pi calls

Point is this Jags team is fearless almost everyone thought they would be one and done or maybe win wildcard at best like Texans, Chiefs, Bengals etc

Instead the Steelers got throat punched then they stood toe to toe with Pats

Tom Coughlin truly one of the best to ever coach came home and fixed things fast as hell im 70-80% sure he delivers a ring

Stop talking to me about Landry Jones. That guy is hot trash. Its unbelievable how ya'll have made him out to be some great backup QB this summer. Last year most of ya'll were saying Dobbs would easily pass him up.

I'm not concerned about Josh Dobbs outplaying Landry Jones. THAT IS A GIVEN. I'm concerned about whether Josh Dobbs will be the NFL MVP this upcoming season. That is my concern. That is what I'm looking forward to seeing.

Stop bothering me with such silly stuff. Josh Dobbs is one of the most talented athletes to ever step foot in the NFL. Landry Jones is a below average backup. This won't even be a competition this year. Josh Dobbs will easily outplay him in every preseason game.

I see you conveniently ignored Joey Bosa's stats. Thats ok, I would if I were you as well.

You think Dobbs will win the MVP over Kamara? Wow.

He calls Landry Jones hot trash then has the idiocy to be so impressed by Dobbs time at UT why Idk he was basically a less impressive nick marshal or dj shockey to me hell he ain’t even cracker ass Matt jones level lol Andre Woodson maybe?Idk but he was far from Peyton or he’ll even Grossman lol

Seriously how long u been watching football to be so amazed by what Dobbs has done? Lol didn’t exactly have Mullen coaching him up like Dak did who btw is better then Dobbs he actually made first team all sec twice

Seem to remember Vols didn’t have. QB coach sorry if wrong

His best asset in college was his running ability he was fast enough and tough kinda like a less impressive Cam Newton running that is he’s Far far less impressive if we talking throwing the ball

Cam played one year and killed it

A QB can be a serviceable college QB, and still not have what it takes to be a 1st string QB in the NFL, you know, like Kevin Hogan.

Dobbs never showed a hint of NFL-caliber throwing skills while at UT, if that makes him a bum in your eyes, then that's on you.

Just like one can recognize that Kamara's talents will take him far in the NFL, and yet not proclaim him HoF material before the end of his rookie season.

Dobbs got zero coaching at UT its beyond laughable this dude thinks after one year as 3rd string in Pitt he’s suddenly gonna take Big Ben’s job mfer must have forgot

This man drove down the field threw a game winning TD after Fitzgerald caught a TD with like 2 min left on the clock

Beat Seahawks 21-10 as took the year Shaun Alexander won MVP

Then lost 31-25 to the pack who were hungry, stout on offense and defense plus a QB that really really wanted that ring to end any Bret Favre noise that was left and I’m sure there was plenty think they barely got in playoff

Yep Tomlin is gonna waste what is most likely his last year with Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown together to watch a rookie get bodied ha and jmo but I’m pretty sure Bell is gone they won’t pay that man long term smh all them franchise tags piss people off

Esp when you are hands down best in the league since u entered it

Gurley and Zeke are awesome but they don’t catch 80 balls in a year plus 20 carries a week much literally every week he has like 20 carries and 6-8 catches

The amount of yards he puts up it’s just disrespectful not to pay him he failed a DT and got a DUI but crazy thing he still is that much better then the others

His argument to be compensated right for all he does is fair he basically is a fantastic big assbRB who carries the load and is consistently near the top in rushing while also putting up numbers comparable to a very good TE

Then Pitt will be kicking themselves wondering why they didn’t sign him for 4 more years after 17 still young and been the best by far since 2013

I hope he can leave on his own like Kirk Cousins and cash out like a mfer

For some reason I’m a big fan of bell he don’t run the ball like anybody else lol he looks super slow in the backfield but that’s patience he bursts through the hole and he’s shifty but in a unconventional way idk guys unique hell I’ve liked him since him and Cousins beat Georgia in that bowl game but he was just a rb in college Steelers got him catching balls like he’s a top TE and running 300 times a yr

Maybe it’s just me but the devaluation of RBs is bull**** smh but they making a comeback

Fournette did a great job with a bad QB and young or still learning to play together OL I mean the starting LT was rookie Cam Robinson oh ya and team that went 3-13 yr before ya he did frickin awesome that speed showed at 22+ mph the highest of any back in league last year

Kamara killed it was like Darren Sproles with double the stats but anybody trying to argue Ingram wasn’t the man as far as running it LOL take a look at the carries they ain’t trying to break the new shiny toy

Cook looked great and behind that D with Keenum slinging it like that to Theilin and Diggs he would of gave Kamara a run for his money cuz of far more carries and yes less receptions then ak but only 15-20% less maybe 25

Kareem Hunt is a beast with guys like Travis Kelce n Tyreke Hill to work with plus Andy Reione of the best with QBs is gonna do very well with Patrick Mahomes imo

Then u got Zeke and the Howard guy for the bears who is probably not famous

Also

Saquon Barkley
Sony Michel
Ronald Jones III
Derius Guice
Nick Chubb
Rashad Penny
Kerryon Jones
Royce Freeman and Mark Walton I’ll throw on here too both have the talent

I think Barkley, Jones, Guice, Michel and Maybe Penny if hawks get OL but Chubb will have Hyde and Duke Johnson to compete with

And of course Leveon Bell, Todd Gurley, David Johnson, gotta throw LeSean McCoy in there too even after trade guys had a great career there’s other really good ones too like Devante Freeman Melvin Gordon etc

Basically last 2 years Leveon Bell has the same amount of receptions as the best TE of that period Travis Kelce

While carrying the call almost 300 times each yr lol now that d4h actually is as impressive as u AK has been after one year with 7 carries a game and 7 catches try 20 and 7 then we get to see Kamara hold up to the pounding u think he can

Yes I believe at this point most teams take him over Gronk’s gimpy ass who is guaranteed to miss 5 or 6 games

Really Kelce was better last year

Anymore proof needed Bell deserves more then a Todd Gurley or Zeke Elliot

Really love Ronald Jones game a lot kid can run

Biggest Home Run Threat in College Football || USC RB Ronald Jones II Career Highlights ᴴᴰ - YouTube

Need to teach him to catch like Kamara and Bell

My top 3 would be

Barkley
Michel
Jones

Carlton Davis was nice pick too And getting Vea to put next to McCoy 👍

With JPP, Noah Spence, Vinnie Curry coming off the edge and Lavonte and Kwon at LB no more excuses get it right or clean house

Frickin rams can lose that leach Fisher and turn it around instantly so can Tampa talent is there

And you just told us why RBs are losing their value.

How exactly? Just curious would u give Bell 2 mill 2.5 a year more then Gurley cuz I know I would he’s only played 4 and half seasons yet he has 5300 rush yds w/ 2700 rec yds and 42 TDs

8k yards bro!!! He’s in his mid 20s not AP lookin for a team last yr

The value of the production is obviously there so your stupid to let him walk or use back to back franchise tags

Plus with his running style I don’t him dealing with long lasting or long reoccurring IR appearances at least

Imo Marshawn Lynch showed a run game and great defense can win u a Super Bowl or 2 as I believe it should have been

David Johnson caught a ton of balls for almost 900 rec yds in 2016 while rushing for 1250 yds and 16 TDs plus the 4 rec 20 total that’s impressive but he was first week this yr smh

Le’Veon been doing this **** bro and if he keeps it up he’s just that much better then the rest

Simply because running backs are an abundance. You named 15 good ones in one post.

Hell I’ll name 15 QBs better then Dobbs over last 15 years in 10 min probably less

But

Dak
Aaron Murray
Nick Marshall
Jamarcus the bust
Jalen Hurts
Eli
Cam
Tebow
Manziel
Connor Shaw super underrated btw
Stafford
Leak
mauck

Petrinos guys at Arkansas

Hell most them guys hadn’t played yet

I’d say it’s because guys like Jordan Howard Kareem Hunt Kamara etc can be found in rounds 3-5

But man AB and Leveon obviously work well together if u keep them together give them a decent QB not Dobbs more like a Foles lol I love their chances of winning a ring

Must keep fixing defense tho never seen a team suck so bad drafting on that side and DB lol since Troy P left they ain’t had nobody worth a ****

Tomlin just has bad luck on defense or something lol who would of guessed Jarvis Jones the sack machine getting drafting as James Harrison is getting old isn’t a perfect fit for a team and player but he has sucked bud dupree artie burns etc

They draft WR very well give em that they could afford to lose Bryant after Juju schuster came on

Green Bay is worse at drafting defense over the last 8 years.

Kamara was drafted in the 3rd round of the draft. Dobbs went in the 4th round. That's not a big difference in terms of how the NFL viewed them as prospects coming into the NFL.

I was the only person anywhere that had Alvin rated above Leonard Fournette as the top RB in the 2017 draft. Nobody but me said he would be a SUPERSTAR in the NFL. So please stop with this lie that everyone saw it coming with Alvin.

I was the only person ANYWHERE who saw Alvin Kamara being the player he turned out to be in the NFL. The only one.

Bless your heart, you keep telling yourself you ARE THE ONLY ONE for all that crap and the only reason you keep throwing Fournette in there is because you think you have proven something with him when all it does is make you look even more naive. AK and Fournette are two COMPLETELY different players and used in COMPLETELY different ways so comparing them to each other is football ignorant.

Then you keep pointing to draft position but there a hundred factors that go into where a player is picked. But let's ignore that to keep making your point shall we.

Coaching during the season no, but we all heard about him getting extra help (props to him) during the off season but his pocket instincts were still average at best and his ability to read defenses were never good. As an athlete, he has very good ball skills but saying he is the best athlete in the NFL is just mind numbing. Dobbs has just above average accuracy (not using percentages either) and not overly impressive arm talent in general.

Asking him how long he has been watching football to come up with all of this is like how many times I have asked him what on his "resume" should lead anyone to believe he knows anything about QB talent. Fact is, he doesn't and has no idea what he is looking at. Just pure fanboy.

Above average accuracy is very generous.

How much?

Looks like this is going to be a watershed season for D4H predictions. He needs sooooooo very much to go right to keep the sheer mass of wrong to be crushing. I mean, he's deep into the "this has to happen or I look like an idiot"* end of the pool. Take this last bit...he's on the hook now for (among many other things) needing to have the recently voted #5 and #18 players in the entire NFL be supplanted by a guy that's literally needing to ball out in the preseason just to make the team and a 3rd rounder that ran a 4.65 at the combine.

Possible? OK, but so is winning the Powerball.

*I realize the board is awash already with vettable idiocy but I'm talking about BIG observation/predictions that are just too obvious to ignore.

well, some try to tie that trait simply to the completion percentage but that would make some QBs look great considering the amount of 3 yard dump offs to some guy who runs for 20 yards after the catch (Lamar Jackson is an example). How strong do they throw the deep out that, while only gaining maybe 7-10 yards at the point of the catch, is about a 35 yard throw and has to be done on a rope and right on the money? Can they throw a fade to the corner with consistency? Can they drop in a skinny post in traffic? Can they get the ball over the second level and into a guy's hands being tracked by a safety?

These are tough throws but an NFL QB has to be able to make them consistently or they are not an NFL QB.

Jags are on the Steelers schedule this year so Dobbs will get to play them in the regular season. I expect Josh to LIGHT THEM UP. Steelers will also win easily.

Unfortunately, I don't see anyway Dobbs will play them in the playoffs since the Jags won't make it.

I see you conveniently ignored Joey Bosa's stats. Thats ok, I would if I were you as well.

You think Dobbs will win the MVP over Kamara? Wow.

The MVP will be Aaron Rodgers in 2018. I've been saying that for months now. Dobbs will most likely finish 2nd.

I think Dobbs will get Offensive Player of the Year over Kamara. I'm hopeful Alvin has another amazing season. I just don't think the Saints will be as good as they were last year which will hurt him in the awards voting.

Saints are one of my picks for teams with a lot of hype that I expect to disappoint this season. I don't have them making the playoffs.
