TrumpPutingate III: the beginning of the end

Should future presidents just stay in the WH more often and never take a weekend off or out of town?
Maybe pass a law to confine them to the WH?

The liberals objection to Trump's golfing has several bases:

(1) Trump has shown himself to be a massive hypocrite. He constantly derided Obama for golfing so much and claimed that he would be too busy fixing America's problems if he were elected president and wouldn't have time to golf. The frequency of his golfing far exceeds Obama's.

(2) The cost of Trump's golf trips is staggering. Something like $2-3 million per trip to Mar-a-Lago. Nevertheless, he complains about the cost of the Mueller investigation, which is far less than he has spent golfing.

(3) When Trump goes golfing, it's usually at one of this own courses and he usually stays there with his security entourage. Thus, he's effectively using public funds to enrich himself. Plenty of non-Trump golf courses in the DC area that he could hit up while staying at Camp David--like nearly every president before him.

This has all been stated multiple times and he knows it. You shouldn't waste your time either.

If this were the work of "the Russians" and would reflect negatively on them, multiple somebodies would be dead - no happy trails for the FBI to follow. Hiliary would have been a national security treasure trove for any of our enemies. She was all the Russians or anyone else could have wanted; why any foreign nation would think they could gain more from Trump as president is mind boggling.

Personally, I think presidents should have an enforced "vacation" budget. Of course, you know they'd cheat just like they mix up campaigning with official business.

On the first part, perhaps Trump watched O'baa-ma struggle struggle with decisions and assumed the job was a lot more difficult than it turns out to be, and it seems like Trump uses his trips frequently for business. Perhaps it's easier to entertain foreign dignitaries more lavishly outside DC - we don't have a lot of unused palaces, etc for putting up visitors.

You are also assuming that Trump is gaining from SS agents staying in the hotel. Since they are government agents, their per diem rates are probably a lot less than what those rooms would normally go for - and parts of the hotel are likely blocked off during those trips. Who knows how AF-1 costs are allocated - or hauling a limo that perhaps is or should just be left in FL.

Probably if we hadn't had so many kooks running around willing to take pot shots at presidents then security would be more reasonable - whether the Obama date nights in NY (and separate vacation travel) or Trump's golf trips.

I agree that it's absurd how much golf Trump plays...after spending so much time criticizing Obama for the same. It's not a good look.

Most recent stats I could find are 166 days at a Trump property, of which 123 of those are at a Trump golf club. Remember, he's only been in office a little over 500 days.

I think you might have dropped your orange shades. LOL

I applaud you for calling him out. You get a like.

It's baffling how anyone can defend him on this.

Oh, and Mar-a-Lago wants to hire 61 foreigners this year. Claim they can't find qualified workers in South Florida. The jobs? Wait staff and line cooks. MAGA!

It's worse in the liberal havens with their "bigger and better" minimum wages. That you can't find qualified workers (meaning someone actually willing to do a good job) in S FL shouldn't come as a big surprise.

The only orange shades I own are of the Vol variety.

There's plenty Trump goes that I don't agree with. I didn't like him in the primaries, either.

That said, his presidency has thus far been better than I expected. What he's driving the Democrats to is just an extra bonus. Maxine4Prez!!!!
