Something like 90% of the nation's hops come from the Yakima Valley. I was there last year during fresh hop season. Stayed in Ballard Brewery District, and you could hit a golf ball to about five breweries from our Airbnb. Awesome beer town. I recommend checking out Ballard if you have an extra day to walk around and drink beer.

Mouth feel for dayzzz.

Somebody, somewhere had to be the first to apply that criterion to beer quality. I cannot see anyone doing it with a straight face. I can't read it without snickering.

What are some fun things in Seattle?

Pike’s Market is fun to walk around. Space Needle is neat as well, especially if it’s a clear day. Ferry trip is a good way to get a great view, or a Duck Tour. Boeing museum south of the city at Boeing Field is pretty cool if you’re into planes at all.

Wife wouldn’t be down

Driftwood Brewery is right in the Seattle/Vancouver area in Victoria. It was really good.

I was there last month. I hit Pike Brewing, Fremont, and Reuben's.

Head to the back of Pike place Market and go to Seattle beer company. You can try a variety of local stuff.

Eat at the Butcher's Table. We ate there last year and it was the best steak we've had in years and years. We had planned to go to the Metropolitan Grill but it was closed for remodeling. My daughter had a business contact and he recommended the Butcher's Table as an alternative.

Wagyu beef...my son-in-law and I split a 48 oz. Tomahawk Ribeye and we killed it. They had a 52 oz. that night but we didn't think we could do it, but wish we had. Sides are also excellent. It wasn't cheap but we budgeted for it and had zero regrets...other than wish we'd had talked ourselves into the bigger ribeye.

Demetrius Robinson transferring from Cal. WVU and Ole Miss are the rumored to be the leaders in leading him

Such sad news about John Ward. He looked so old and frail in Neyland last year, so we all knew it was coming, but still, such a loss. He's right up there with Gen. Neyland and Pat Summitt on Tennessee's Mt Rushmore-- one of the best we've ever had. Tennessee was always great when John Ward called the game.

Feldman just trying to connect dots in that one based on previous coaches....based on him saying personal family issues means close to home. He is from GA. Dawg 247 mod thinks it's UGA with Bama as a possiblility. No mention of west va and ole miss from him.

While you're at the Space Needle, be sure to also see Chihuly Gardens. Its literally under the Space Needle. You can get dual tickets and save some bucks. I know, you're thinking "Blown glass? Really?" It is truly worth the time and money.

Chihuly Garden and Glass | Home

In the same neighborhood, I would recommend Queen Anne's Beerhall and Rocco's. Both of them for beers and food. Rocco's has excellent pizza and a smoked pork belly appetizer that you should try if you go.

Have fun, whatever you do!

Chihuly has an awesome gallery in St Petersburg also. He creates some beautiful stuff. I highly recommend going to one of his places if you get a chance and like art.

Heading to Vancouver for 5 days after. Definitely plan on hiking.

In terms of skyscraper metropolises, Vancouver is one of the most beautiful cities on the planet, IMO.

I remember going to Seattle for the first time about 6 years ago and being blown away by it and the backdrop of Mt. Rainier, and then driving to Vancouver a few days later and feeling like Seattle was ho-hum in comparison.

And most of the towers are condos...

Hahahahaha. Nice. :lolabove:

That dude is hilarious. Just discovered him a couple months ago. He's actually from Nashville and is a Vandy fan. He has a couple albums out but his latest standup special is on Netflix's The Standups (Season 1). Highly recommend that if you like his style of comedy.

damn I love Bargatze. Been a fan a while, seen him perform a few times in NYC & once in Nashville. He's hilarious. Will be a household comedy name soon too IMO. Dude speaks from experience about Walmart and it's hilarious.....

Yeah, I can't imagine living there. A mortgage in one of those glass towers has to be outrageously expensive.

It is...there's a lot of Far Eastern money in Vancouver. To them, the prices probably seem affordable. But the real estate was crazy expensive and properties spend very little time on the market. Parts of Canada, such as Vancouver and Toronto, have potentially serious housing issues due to the rapidly escalating cost of real estate.

We had a long conversation with one of the restaurant managers and it was pretty interesting. He never really gave me much of an answer when I pressed him on where the service people live. They darn sure don't live anywhere near town!

Gum wall. Crazy homeless people watching. JK

Pikes Market is cool, Space Needle is currently being renovated so not sure what is available to see there right now. Great Wheel is pretty cool. Pacific Science Center. Chihuly Gardens (be very careful with kids). Theo Chocolate tour, Museum of Pop Culture, Waterfront park (see homeless above).

Starbucks on the 40th floor of Columbia tower (currently the tallest building in Seattle).
