One of the guys that helps with the athlon rankings is on Nashville radio 102.5 the game every morning. He broke it down this morning. He said Moorehead has Mississippi State fans really excited and the team is set up to with this year. He then mentioned his tenure at Fordham that went well and then talked about turning around Penn States offense. He mentioned he was unproven as a Power 5 headcoach but there was enough to say he will be a good coach. I somewhat agree and do think he will be good, but idk about at 8. I’d say 10-14 range since he is still power 5 unproven.

Then when he talked about Jeremy Pruitt he didn’t mention any of his coordinator accomplishments, didn’t mention how CJP was recruiting so far and how UT fans feel about him so fa and instead made fun of the fact that CJP wore baggy pants and always looked uncomfortable. He also said if CJP can even get UT to a bowl game this year he will shoot up the rankings though. He just didn’t have any faith in him it sounded like.

The funniest part is the guy saying all this graduated from UT and is a UT fan.
Yeah. Thought the part about his dress was silly. Because he isn't concerned with dress he's comfortable off the field?

I never listen to that show, just happened to stop when I heard them talking SEC coaches.

The best that ever was. Enjoy

Thanks for posting this. I just realized that a lot of our younger fans don't understand why this is such a blow to us old farts. Back in the day most games were untelevised and we became used to hearing John Ward describe the play and the atmosphere of the games, I pretty much always turned the volume of TV announcers off when I lived somewhere I could get it on radio..he truly was The Voice of the Vols. I am having a delayed reaction meltdown remembering those games this morning..Another piece of my youth is gone..

Go rest high on that mountain Sir. You are greatly missed 😓

So...Mike Hamilton, Dave Hart, John Currie, Lane Kiffin, Derek Dooley and Butch Jones walk into a bar...

The bartender asks, “What’ll ya have gents?” (Smirking when he says gents)

Kiffin answers: “Shots for all of us! We deserve them for our time at Tennesse!”

Bartender: “That you do sir, that you do. Coming right up.”

Bartender reaches beneath the bar, pulls out a revolver and calmly shoots all six of them.

The bartender grinning says “Glad that Kiffin asked for shots!”

PF takes off his bartender apron and laughingly says “I’ve got work to do. Time to erase their stain from my Tennessee!”

Is it weird that I saw PF and thought of Paul Fortenberry, not Phil Fulmer?

Same, I just happened to hear them talking about it and stopped. Once I heard their reasonings for Pruitt I just laughed and decided to put on some music. Dumb.

If 2009 was a 9-10 win roster I’ll catch you guys in Atlanta this year

9 wins should’ve been do able in 2009. We pissed away the UCLA game and didn’t even try at the bowl game. Kiffin was already gone and knew it at that point. Auburn was also a winnable game.

The 2009 team had nfl players at every level.

QB: 2009
RB: 2009 easily
WR/TE: push but lean 09.
OL: 2018
DL: 2009
LB: 2018
DB: 2009 easily

The pop culture museum is really amazing. Buy coffee and donuts somewhere. If you have the time, get out of town and go for a hike.

Are you suggesting the topless drive thru coffee stands? :eek:lol: Cause yeah, I recommend that too.

Going to age myself a bit as well. I grew up listening with my dad to his multi-band radio to each game every Saturday. John Ward is the voice I will always remember. We would go to Neyland together for a game each year and sit in the north end zone bleachers when my first memory was of watching Steve DeLong destroy offenses from his middle guard - not NT position. But I always wanted to hear John's voice and would listen to the game while there on my 2 transistor AM radio. That continued until he retired, albeit using improved radios. My wife loved hearing him as much I did. If we watched on TV, we always turned the TV volume down and the radio on to hear his call. Same with basketball.

Once you heard him call a game, why on earth would you ever listen to anybody else?

Word. We are staying in pike market. Got my brewery list ready.

Something like 90% of the nation's hops come from the Yakima Valley. I was there last year during fresh hop season. Stayed in Ballard Brewery District, and you could hit a golf ball to about five breweries from our Airbnb. Awesome beer town. I recommend checking out Ballard if you have an extra day to walk around and drink beer.

Mouth feel for dayzzz.
