Yep. The only one that I remember turning out successfully was Mzterry. Even so, there were some rocky times.

Along with the weight room renovation, UT increased its financial commitment to the personnel on its football strength staff.

The NCAA allows football programs to have a five-person strength staff.

The Vols dedicated $905,000 in salaries to Fitzgerald and his four assistant strength coaches. Of that, $625,000 is going to Fitzgerald. Butch Jones' final five-man strength staff made a combined $650,000.

“We were prepared to make an investment in that area,” first-year athletic director Phillip Fulmer said in March.

I think our offense last year did not feature our playmakers and the way callaway catches, I think he can and should lead our team. People should not forget JJ as he’s back in the fold.

Butch going to Bama as a $35k/year lackey is a joke. It's not going to help his career and in fact will probably only harm it.

The Saban rehab program only works if he gives you an actual job. Hell, even Dooley was respected/smart enough to take a position coach job with the Cowboys, and now he's an OC in the SEC. He may never be a head coach again but he's working his way back up the ladder.

Butch should have settled for any head coaching job he could find, even a lower level G5 job or an FCS job. His reputation took a massive hit at Tennessee, and his joke of a job title at Bama is making it even worse.

Although I guess it's possible that he legitimately had zero options out there other than this joke of a gig. I highly doubt Sexton would have let him take the position without looking for landing spots for him throughout all of fall/winter 2017.

I think you might be overthinking it a bit. After 5 stressful years, I am guessing Butch wanted time off to spend with his family. He didn't want to jump at a lower level job just to be a head coach.

As an analyst, he doesn't have to be at Bama full time, and he mitigates his contract. My guess is that he will eventually have some options, even if it's a lower level job. If Derek Dooley can get hired as an OC at an SEC school, then Butch Jones can find some decent job.

CFB Analyst is just a consulting job. Lots of coaches serve as analysts in between jobs. Some are in football complex more than others. Primarily they are another set of eyes for the coaching staff. They are not coaching.

Quality Control guys are more hands on and watch lots of film and work with position coaches and attend coach's meetings daily. This is a coaching position for up and comers.

Except, Butch is an intern. Not an analyst. He's going through old files and shredding anything older than 7 years. Saban doesn't even let him hear the film room.

In Butch's case, he'll be asked to close his eyes on occasion. On more than one occasion. Frequently. They're going to give him blinders and a cane when he enters the facility.

I stayed at Hotel Indigo a few weeks ago. It was very nice and walking distance to the downtown bars and restaurants. Neat city.

McBride and Hamilton. McBride just seems like he’s going to be really good and the bama offer to Hamilton elevated him a lot in my eyes.

Logue doesn’t impress me and I would take McBride over Akporoghene

Dools is a way better football coach than Butch. Don't get me wrong, Dooley was an awful coach, but Butch Jones was a con artist.

Dooley is a guy that isn’t a good coach but that I could sit down, get a beer ,and have a conversation with and enjoy myself.

Butch is not one of those guys. He’s just a weirdo
