TrumpPutingate III: the beginning of the end

Little Marco says YGHN.

You just proved my point. Trump will make another wild accusation next month and once again, you will believe it and disparage anyone (including Republicans) who choose to look at the facts instead of putting blind faith behind the words of an habitual liar. This is tribalism. You would literally defend Trump for anything.

"How much smoke is he going to have to blow before he finally loses credibility with his base?"

Great question. I don't think he will ever lose credibility with his remaining base. If they've accomplished the mental gymnastics required for continued support to this point, there's no turning back now. They are on this ride until it crashes and burns,

Exactly right. The 37 pct have simply invested too much to back out now. They'll go down with the ship, too, at this point, rather than admit they were wrong about him.

The problem with this thought is that he hasn’t done anything, besides words, that most on the GOP side see as bad.

Words are what we're talking about. How can you continue to believe false accusation after false accusation? When do his WORDS lose credibility?

They don't care. They know he's lying all the time. They don't care. It has simply never mattered to them that he is what he is, which is ironic because they hated HRC simply because of what they believed to be flaws in her character.

They voted against her because they didn't like her. They voted for Trump because he wasn't her. Now they have to try to convince themselves they did the right thing, despite their misgivings about him.

Actions are louder then words. I am not a fan of the guy but I understand him. He is all bluster and ego. He hits the notes his core base wants played. It’s what got him elected in the first place. I don’t know why anyone is surprised he continues to do it. I don’t have an issue with the majority of the policy he has put in place. I care far more about that. I don’t see myself voting for him next time, didn’t the first time, but when the Dems roll out scumb don’t be surprised when scumb beats scumb.

I don't have misgivings.

Right. That whole tribalism thing. It doesn't matter what he does next. You'll be the same love struck school girl you are today.
I have seen nothing to change my mind, other than he is doing better than I thought he could with all the opposition. He is no different than he was before the election.

Trump has sent 13 tweets since Saturday morning and only 1 of them made any reference to "spy" or "spying" after using those words all week from Monday to Friday. Maybe somebody convinced him that it's not always smart to write a check you can't cash?

I have no idea when, or if Trump sends out tweets, nor do I care.

I agree that he is no different than he was before the election. But for the majority of the people that is a HORRIBLE thing.

After the shock of the election, the complete disbelief in what America had just seemingly willfully done, the one shred of hope was that it was all just an act for his base. He only did and said the things he did because that was the only way he could win the election. The hope and prayer was that now that he had pulled off the inconceivable, he would become a more normal, tolerable, and unifying president. but as you said, he didn't change a bit.

Which Democratic policies are going to lower the unemployment rate to less than 3.9%, and which ones are going to improve the economy even more? Which of their policies are going to bring more prisoners home? Which are more likely to bring No. Korea to the table? Which are more likely to further decimate Al Quaida (or however you spell it) ? Which of the Dem policies will further lower our tax burden? Give me a reason to change horses in the middle of the stream.

They can’t. Because their policies suck. What is great is that his policies actually work. And they hate him for it. Their whining makes it all glorious.

Can't let you get away with asking this without mentioning that it was the 2009 stimulus which began the economic recovery.

Yup, it just took 9 years to work. It's just a coincidence that the year after Obama left office the hiring started growing a pace slower than glacial.
