Iran nuclear program. It is a lie

The beauty is I don't have to support either brand of bad government.

You didn’t answer the question. You’d obviously rather see Trump fail, rather than America succeed. It’s pretty sad the partisan douchbaggery that you so aptly referenced in the past.

I don't believe that.

What have I said that leads you to conclude I want Trump to fail? I want what's best for America*. The funny thing is I am one of the few people here who will give credit where credit is due. I'm very pleased with the Gorsuch appointment, which I expressed when the appointment was made and have continued to give Trump credit for that. I also gave Trump nods for the regulations he cut and for reducing taxes. The optics on the NK deal look really good.

Find me any conservative on this board who has said four complementary things about Obama or any liberal who has done the same with regard to Trump.

*attacking made up motives is much easier than addressing points that are being made

72 virgins. Don't short change them or you could end up on the wrong side of a fatwah.

I was always thinking 27, but 72 - where do they get all those virgins? That's a lot of belief without anybody checking back in to confirm, and so far, the only verifiable out of the world experience seems to be people lifted there by NASA, etc.

Isn't that how foreign diplomacy works? That's the president's job. Does he need congress to make this agreement? Pretty sure he doesn't. We are not honoring our commitment. You can argue it's a good thing, but you can't say that we didn't commit ourselves.

Article 2, Section 2.

"The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to Grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.

He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law: but the Congress may by Law vest the Appointment of such inferior Officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the Courts of Law, or in the Heads of Departments."

This is a lie that has been successfully spread to justify America's actions. I don't have time to link it but there are multiple examples of how Truman and the media continued to exaggerate the potential American military losses to justify the dropping of the bombs. First it was 25,000 casualties would have been lost, but now it's a million.

Might want to refer to Okinawa as a precursor to what it would have been to fight on Japanese soil - it would have been a very small scale example. Okinawans weren't by any means the dedicated fanatics that the true Japanese were.

Interesting read, despite being dated and CNN. Lays out the controversy over the deal and Obama's ability to make it without congressional approval. Personally, I find the arguments for overreach more compelling.
