Pruitt not happy with Spring Game attendance

Pruitt is going to have to adjust his expectations he isn’t coaching at FSU and Georgia and Bama anymore. Tenn is straight garbage right now and us fans have been thru hell the last decade. 65k was pretty good attendance for the game considering the season we just had. Personally I’m in wait and see mode on this one I hope Pruitt succeeds here but I’m not getting my hopes up after being burned by Kiffin, Dooley and Botch.

CJP raised the bar when he said if you consider yourself a fan you will be there. He figured there were enough people that considered themselves fans to fill Neyland.

If just the fans within walking distance that were free to attend would have walked on in this wouldn't have been an issue. Since that didn't happen, we get page after page of fans bashing the coach for wanting a packed house.

He could have avoided the question or settled for who did show up.

It isn't a good look IMO. Ole Jeremy is gonna show up at my house and ask me if I had a doctors note for why I didn't go.

The fact that the fans aren't going to accept paying money to watch a ****ty football team is the reason you're here. It's the reason Butch got fired and it's the reason we don't have Greg Schiano.

We all watched the game and saw a team that isn't very good. The implication here that if we aren't successful it's because not enough fans showed up, is enough to roll my eyes right into the back of my skull.

I ask about a reply that makes no sense and your answer is that my feeling are hurt? Lol, you made yourself look stupid, i was just trying to figure out what it had to do with tennessee football?

It appears your attempts to prove something that isnt true about Pruitt has lead to incoherant posting. Good luck with that.

Would you feel the same way if Brady Hoke came out after the Vandy game and said we only lost because not enough fans showed up?

Or he could focus on his job and not put a crap product on the field and keep his nothing shut about the fans that will be support his team for the next several years.

I believe I did say that my post had about as much to do with Tennessee football as his “ school of thought did “ didn’t I ?

Sounds good. Old buddy in Alaska (we grew up nextdoor in S Knoxville) inviting me to go fishing in the summer, hard to turn that down. Planning to fly up there in early July with my son (he graduates HS in May) and spend a few days. Just need to ship a few big orders beforehand...

Our fans show up and create a real home field advantage.. Florida, Oklahoma, Georgia, Alabama... The players continually give up, but somehow, a coach who’s out of the loop on the past 10 years of Tennessee football gets upset... do your job and win games.. attendance will take care of itself

He’s to blame as much as anyone. Hell, you didn’t know they had practice until the last week when he realized he better say something about the team. He’s lucky he got the people he did.

Vol fans should take this very seriously. Cut ties with the HC and start a new search. Seems reasonable after a few post scrimmage comments. I love these threads!

No. I would not feel the same about two different situations.

I think it's fine for our HC, players and recruits to expect a full house every game, including the O&W game. When it doesn't happen something should be said by the leadership of the program.

I'm interested in knowing what our AD's take is on this comment by CJP.
