I think he was talking about not filling the stadium completely.
If he wanted that he needed to hype the Spring Game a lot more. You can't get a buzz going by not dealing with the PR aspects more than he has. I don't want him to be like Butch but if he wanted it filled and loud he should've said so all Spring long.
Obviously we still have a long way to go as a football team but I saw what I hoped to see today. Good coaching.
Offensive system is gonna be WORLDS better than before. You can tell the QBs are getting coached up. Even as vanilla as we were being you could tell the route concepts were better (WR crossing routes? Thank you!), blocking scheme is better and we are tryin no to get the ball out quick. JG ismuch improves already. McBride even settled down and made some nice throws at the end.
D will need some work but I think we will look better when our LBs are healthy and we are at full strength. I thought Alontae sticks at CB and we have 4 guys that wind up being decent to good there.
Excited and encouraged for the season and Im happy we have a coach that is going to DEMAND excellence.
That will all work itself out when we start winning football games. But Im not sure why he even mentioned the crowd.
I think Pruitt knows he has to go a little above and beyond right now to get this team mentally and physically back on track after Butch basically destroyed it on his way out. I don't think he will continue at this fever pitch, but will definitely stay at this level until fall.
This team needs a complete mental overhaul and he sees it will be an uphill battle. He has to stay constant and make the kids understand they must always be looking at how to improve.
I agree with most of folks observations today, and after watching the game, I would say JG has improved, but still has a long way to go. The WRs did bail him out quite a few times and he would have been eating turf several times if this was a real game.
I am very pleased with what I have seen and really think we finally have a real coaching staff top to bottom. If the kids continue to buy in and we stay healthy, I really think we can pull off 7 wins ...
